Great read for moms wanting to create a better future for their kids (= every mom!)
What a perfect book for me at this time in my life! I have a toddler and I'm feeling stressed out about building more financial security. What better book to read than one written by a money expert that is also a mom. This book is inspiring me to be to be smarter about my financial decisions, set goals, and achieve them. There are tons of useful tidbits of information like online personal finance tools and apps to try. I loved all the stories of successful rich moms who I can learn from. And btw the word "rich" is defined differently by every mom, and Palmer urges you to figure out what it means to you. All moms (regardless of your financial situation) need to read this book.

Every new mom needs to read this book!
I could not put down "Smart Mom, Rich Mom" because it is jam-packed with helpful ideas and suggestions. Palmer does such a good job of taking a very overwhelming subject and breaking it down into manageable pieces. I felt I could tackle one suggestion at a time instead of feeling overloaded and stepping away from my finances altogether. As a mom of two small children, time is precious and it was well worth my time to read this book!

Not very helpful to me
I was so disappointed in this book. Happy to pause paid work while I have young ones at home, I suspect I'm not the target audience for this book, in which relentless pursuit of the almighty dollar is championed at all costs.

Two Stars
Super basic info, not a lot of specific tips, but more general philosophy...?

I like this book
I like this book. Haven't finished reading it though so won't give it a higher rating yet. I've seen good suggestions for cutting back on expenses and saving, so far. I'll come back and change my rating once I'm done with the book and have put some of the suggestions to work.

Great help for wives.. And husbands too!
In my country, moms have the traditional role of handling budget and finances of their families. That is why the many of ideas here in this book are familiar to me personally. My mom was the main decision maker when it comes to financial decisions. In my own family now, both me and my wife are jointly making decisions in our finances. We don't make big purchases without consulting each other. Since me and my wife are embracing the non-traditional role of spouses, Reading this book is a great help especially for me to find out how smart moms do what they do best. This book is full of practical insights that will help women in particular be their own financial experts. There are also discussion on how to instill financial literacy to children as early as toddlers. I find it helpful that the book encompass the financial challenges of women and how they can solve it. I can use these ideas to help both me and my wife do better financial decisions. If there is anything that I would want the book to explore more, it would be the ideas on how husbands or partners help their wives be financially capable. The book focuses too much on women doing things on their own while forgetting that many of these women have partners who can help them achieve what the book wants to achieve. I guess by reading this book, I just need to figure that on my own too. Lol
