Pt Light Wedge 132

Total, complete crap
Had high hopes after seeing a few good reviews of this "product". You see, I have an older pool and the light niches have all eroded with 30 years of time and all of the clips that hold the light fixture in place have broken off, leaving my lights floating. These gizmos seemed reasonable enough: provide a "wedge" between the fixture and the light itself. Well, after putting on my mask and snorkle (and good attitude), I tried putting these in. Not only are they designed to work with my lights (the ad says "fits all lights") as my lights are too narrow, when I tried the alternate installation, the screw broke off mid-way. Photo attached. So not happy with this product and thought I'd warn my other pool brethren and sistren to stay away.

Life saver!
This little guy was a real life saver. When I moved into my house, the previous owner had no idea how to fix the light in the pool. I watched videos online on how to fix a pool light, took it out and had to replace the sockets. From the first time I took the light out, I noticed the screw was pretty well stripped and the light didn't want to seat in the housing. I little investigation showed why. The guy who had installed the light can put way too much sealant\putty in the hole where the wires come through the wall. As a consequence, the back of the light would contact the putty before it was fully seated. To make matters worse it would push the light off the little tab on the bottom because the screw wouldn't hold. I spent many "lungs full of air" and lots of choice words over the dilemma. Then I stumbled on this wedge. I originally tried to get it through the main hole where the screw went, but by mistake ended up with the wedge just next to the tab but when it pulled tight, you couldn't even tell it wasn't exactly square! Boom! Problem solved. Now my light is securely anchored and I don't have to worry about guests bumping it and knocking it out. If you have a situation similar to mine, do yourself a favor and buy this wedge. Simple design and it works!

Loose but stays on
It does the job staying on. Definitely not a tight fit like the original screw down.

Does the job
Does what you need it to do if you have a light that isn't designed for the niche you have. Once I figured out how to use it, it worked perfectly to secure a Hayward light in a Pentair niche.

Perfect for our old pool light.
We have a pool from the 70s and this helped us repair an old light.

Works OK in spa light.
It is holding my spa light in place, although the wedge is probably not sitting in the quite the place they show you in the instructions. They suggest removing the plastic wedge when installing it in a spa light, and just using the metal rod inside it, but that didn't seem to work for me.

A real money saver
A real money and time saver. So glad I found this little gem. Without it I would have to spend hundreds of dollars. This worked like a charm and I was able to install in less than 10 minutes.

This works great
The bracket inside my pool light cavity had broken off. I purchased this hoping it could hold the light securely in place and it worked perfectly. This little gadget saved me a costly underwater repair.
