Stinger 81LM is a replacement for the now discontinued Liftmaster 81LM and all sears craftsman 139 model numbers listed above. It is compatible with operators manufactured between 1993-1997 and uses a "Smart" coding button with a Green LED light that will light up when you press the smart button on the back of the overhead motor to program the remote. The STINGER 81LM is a 1 channel transmitter, compatible with the "Billion Code" series. It includes a visor clip and Lithium battery (5 years life with normal use), also instructions come with the remote. The wireless keypad that is compatible with this Sears Craftsman garage door opener is the 387LM universal keypad. Troubleshooting steps: Install only on a properly balanced and lubricated garage door. An improperly balanced door may not reverse and could result in severe injury or death. Repairs to cables, spring assemblies and other hardware must be made by a professional service person before installing opener. 3. Disable all locks and remove all ropes connected to the garage door before installing the opener. Ropes connected to a garage door can cause entanglement and death. 4. If possible, install door opener 7 feet or more above floor with the emergency release handle mounted 6 feet above the floor. 5. Do not connect the opener to power source until instructed to do so. 6. Locate the Wall Control within sight of the door at a minimum height of 5 feet where small children cannot reach and away from all moving parts of the door. 7. Install the User Safety Instruction Label on the wall adjacent to the control button and the Maintenance Instruction Label in a prominent location on the inside of the garage door.

Worked perfectly in literally seconds
We got this because we have a very old garage door opener, so old the original remote fell apart! It cracked just pushing the button. No fun having a automatic garage door opener with no way to remotely open it. :)We assumed we would need to just get a full new opener, but decided to “waste” money on trying a new remote. We checked model numbers and it seemed it was supposed to work.Directions we so simple we were afraid we’d be to dumb to follow them, or the whole thing was a scam. Not to mention neither husband nor I are in any way handy people!Pull out tape on battery, push button on opener, push button on remote. Sounded WAY to easy.Within literally 5 SECONDS this new one worked perfectly! Exactly like back when everything was new (25+ years ago!)Highly recommend!

Very easy to program and make it work with with garage door 139.53636srt
I have a Sears Craftsman 139.53636srt garage door opener and I tried other brands which required me to select the specific code. They did not work no matter what I did. I gave up an found this at Amazon sold by ASPdoors. I chose standard shipping, but I received in two days. I was able to program the remote within seconds. It works as expected. I cannot say anything for other types of garage doors, but if you have a model number by your garage door opener that says, 139.53636srt, don't waste your time and get this!

Worked perfectly
The instructions are a little off on accessing the battery on the one I got. It told you to remove a screw or screws...you dont need to do that on the one I got, the battery compartment slides open like most remotes. You HAVE to remove the plastic strip that keeps the battery in storage mode. You HAVE to follow the very simple instructions EXACTLY. It's so simple a child could do it except for climbing on a ladder to push the button on your garage door opener. If you cleared your entire group of remotes linking this...you are NOT smarter than a 5th grader! ;>)

It Works!
Ordered 2 of these to use with a Craftsman garage door opener. Only had 1 old opener for a condo we bought and it had been discontinued by Liftmaster. The motor has the green learn button. Took about 30 seconds to program both new remotes. They are small and light, come with a clip to clip to a visor. For the price, happy camper.

Good replacement remote, not great.
Someone in my household lost the original remote garage door openers years ago so it was annoying to get in and out of my car to open the garage door if I wanted to park in the garage. This remote saved me the annoyance. The only problem I have with the remote is that sometimes the garage door doesn't open when I use the remote. If I am at an incorrect distance from where I programmed the remote, the garage door won't open. Other than that, the remote does what it is supposed to. :)

Really easy to set up!
This was such a fantastic find! We bought our house, and discovered that the previous owners lost their original remote. I was unable to find the identical replacement part, since it was from 1995. I was sceptical about this, but glad I decided to try it.It was very easy to set up, too. I just followed the instructions for the "learn" button on the mounted door opener. It took all of 5 minutes from opening the package to get it situated. One thing that I have not been able to do, which isn't terrible, is to get it to program my car's garage buttons. It's a 2014 Hyundai, so I figured it would be easy to set up. Possibly due to lack of reliable instructions on the web, but definitely worth a mention.

As easy as pie
As easy as pie. Bought a house with a working 20-year-old Craftsman garage door opener, but lacking a transmitter. After a bit of research I bought this replacement transmitter, followed the directions, and now have a fully working electric door opener. At first I was afraid the process outlined in the directions had failed. I'd followed directions by pushing the switch on the opener and had the LED blinking, but pressing the opener did nothing. Then I saw that the new transmitter (which thoughtfully came with a battery) came with a little piece of paper placed between the battery and contact to keep the battery from draining in transit. I removed the piece of paper and it worked immediately. Great product. Kind of a lifesaver...

We've replaced it and would like to return this one as it is not usuable/compatible ...
We just discovered that the addition of this garage door opener shut all of our other, pre-exiting openers down. We've replaced it and would like to return this one as it is not usuable/compatible as indicted
