Panacea Products Corp 30" Blk Fireplace Shovel

Shovel is well made. The shovel part, however, has low sides, does not hold very much at all. Makes a good wall ornament, not so much a wood burning stove shovel. Search continues.

Here in Wisconsin we have a wood burning fireplace and have occasion to use it regularly. I can't tell you how many fireplace sets I've thrown away. Either the stands or the tools fall apart. It seems you can get something that won't fall apart, if you're willing to part with $100+. I came up with a better plan. I had space on the wall adjacent to the fireplace, so I put together a simple rack and used some black iron cabinet knobs as hooks and bought a set of these tools for a very reasonable price. These things are rock solid, look fine and the wall rack is actually better than having some cheap stand on the hearth.

It is very well made and as described. Nice heavy duty construction.My only complaint is that the shovel "scoop" is too small. The "scoop" could easily be 1/2 again as long. It is not the end of the world but it is somewhat like trying to use a soup spoon on the end of yardstick.I would recommend it for the value and function as it is still a very good deal for the money.

I know some people may be shocked to think that this item might be anything other than it is advertised to be.. What it is advertised to be is a fireplace shovel... And surprise-Surprise! It's a Fireplace shovel with the bonus of that I use it for my camp fire while camping...so...it's also a camp fire shovel... Bonus....Secondary bonus is that it works.... Does what it says it will do... It shovels ash and hot coals well... While not "amazingly" - it just does it well...

This shovel has a nice appearance, but the function is terrible. The scoop portion of the shovel is completely straight. If it was angled up you could get more leverage and be able to scoop easier. It is just awkward. In addition the sides of the shovel are shallow so scooping up anything but a small amount is difficult. This is a good product for looks, not for function. I would not buy this again.

My previous fireplace shovel broke and I didn't want to replace the whole set of tools. I just needed a shovel to get by with for the Winter and this did the trick. Great for the price.

It does the job but the connection between the shovel and the handle is not very strong and so it bends easily. This was the issue with the previous shovel we had and how it wound up breaking.

This item is just the right size and has good workmanship. It is long enough to keep me from getting burned while removing ashes.
