Skooba Design, Laptop Weekender V.3 Bag, Great Travel Bag, Duffle Bag, Lots of Storage Compartments

The Skooba Design Laptop Weekender V.3 is a little smaller than I expected. (I guess I'm bigger than the guy in the SD video.) But the bag does everything that the sales description says it does. It will hold a laptop and a tablet (a 13.3" MacBook Air in a neoprene sleeve and an iPad) and all their accessories and supplies. The video shows a good way to pack the four outside pockets. The bag is unique in having nice and usable pockets on the four sides. This bag would carry everything that I absolutely need for a trip to Africa--extra pair of shoes, two days of lightweight clothes, belt, shave kit, book/laptop/tablet/documents, etc. A truly amazing bag.I wanted a bag that will carry everything. I now have a CPAP machine. That means I have three bags to carry on the airplane. I could actually get the CPAP machine, laptop, tablet, accessories, clothes, shave kit, etc. documents, and a book in this bag and only have one bag to carry. Because of the weight of the CPAP machine, I would need a luggage cart but the Samsonite Folding Luggage Cart would be strong enough to wheel the bag around and light enough to store. I tried the bag on a weekend trip, over packing it, and it handled the trip and contents nicely. The bag appears to be well made and sturdy. I recommend the Skooba Design Laptop Weekender V.3 wholeheartedly.

Below is the original review. Since then, I've been through 3 or 4 of the bags including a replacement one sent by the company.They have let me down far too often. The pockets are great and perfect for what I need as a carry-on when I travel. But the darn bag falls apart. If you actually put a laptop in it, within days, sometimes hours, the bag becomes shapeless. When that happens, it sags and the metal bottom of the laptop starts hitting the ground when you put the bag down, damaging your computer. Additionally as the bag sags, the load transfers on the strap so it becomes a cutting, dead weight on your shoulder, which is pretty much awful on a long trip. What's worse is the first bag made it a year before this happened. The fourth bag made it three weeks. Not sure why, but the sagging happens real fast with the recent bags.I gave this bag 4 chances because I wanted it to work so badly, but ultimately it is completely unusable for anyone who actually travels.***I travel constantly and am always trying to find the perfect bags.I have found one. This is perfect for what it is.It is the perfect weekender or 2nd bag on top of a wheelie for a seasoned traveler. It is incredibly light, well-designed, attractive, rugged and holds exactly what you might want for a short trip. The center section is open and holds clothes. Each of the four sides opens up and holds laptops, ipads, shoes, computer cables, you name it. I was amazed at how well this worked.It is also a superb 2nd bag carryon. It holds just enough emergency stuff to see you through if the airlines lose your main bag, yet light enough to maneuver through airports and small enough to stow in the rapidly shrinking overhead space on todays hobbit-friendly airplanes.I have been looking for a bag like this for years.

The bag itself was great, but did not come with the shoulder strap.

As a frequent professional keynote speaker and seminar speaker who travels with all her own AV equipment, I cannot rave about the variety of pockets this bag has, and how it fits in ALL airline overhead bins without fail! I must admit that I only gave it 4 stars because it is hard to carry when full! I wish this excellent company would have thought of women who have weaker upper body strength than men, and who really rely on luggage with WHEELS! Please consider updating this great product, and being in touch with me when it has wheels, so that I can change my review and really endorse this product wherever I go!
