Q: My son is 6 and 50 lbs. will this work for his size?

No need for inflation! Soft and comfortable to wear, perfect for flotation therapy or deep water exercise. Quick release adjustable slide fastener eliminates Velcro which can damage swimwear. Highest quality black neoprene filled with Styrofoam pellets dries quickly. Great for Bad Ragaz, patients with spinal cord injury, or handicapped swimmers. Keeps head above water.

Q: My son is 14 and disabled he is the size of a 7-8 year old weighs 50 pounds will this work for him?

It’s difficult to say. I weigh 175 lbs and it didn’t have enough buoyancy for me to use it as a kick board. Weight-wise it might work depending how much use your son has of his arms. If he works with a physical therapist he/she may have suggestions. Best of luck in your search for an answer!

Q: Can you do laps (freestyle) with this collar?

This would prohibit you from doing the laps comfortably. it is not recommended for use with the freestyle.

Q: is this difficult to clean. We are thinking of using instead of a neck doodle . It would be exposed to extremely high salt levels.

I use this in a heated salt pool for physical therapy. It has been durable and is similar to the one my PT uses.This is not adequate for a regular floatations device. That is stated on the use instructions
