The 80% Approach

Time for Getting a Lot More Done - and Feeling Great About It!
What a wonderful book on gaining more clarity in your life - and getting a LOT more done. The 80% Approach = "A way of thinking and acting that eliminates the paralysis of perfectionism and procrastination." (from the beginning pages of this book.)I speak for myself when I admit that perfectionism and procrastination have cost me a lot of time, confidence and money. Dan Sullivan clarified it so much for me, by showing that perfectionism and procrastination come from the same "mold." Perfectionists are always procrastinators, and procrastinators are always perfectionists. So the whole reason for anyone reading "The 80% Approach" would be to eliminate procrastination and perfectionism, and become super confident and achieve your goals.

had high hopes but was disappointed
The book did not seem to give much more detail than the short description on Amazon and was filled with claims that seemed to be nothing more than opinions or marketing for a coaching business. I took the perfection-procrastination problem quite seriously, agree it is rampant and looked forward to reading the book for solutions. The solutions presented were not very useful to an individual but could encourage a team leader to delegate. I did not find this book helpful but became curious about the coaching so ended up feeling manipulated by this author to seek out further of his services.

Not crazy about this TINY booklet
I think I might have liked it more - even would have given it a better chance - if it hadn't been so slight. Basically - the price should have been much lower considering how much paper and ink went into producing it. I understand that ultimately the value lies in the ideas gleaned in a book(let) but seriously - this one seemed like highway robbery.

Quick help for chronic perfectionists
Very short book that covers the material very effectively. It provides a quick, incisive framework to help unblock you from perfectionism and procrastination.I do think it over-reaches a bit in parts. And sometimes the author makes it seem like the concept will revolutionize humanity. But in the whole, it's well worth the read. Highly recommend.

Getting unstuck
If you find yourself stuck and procrastinating this book will give you the inspiration to give yourself permission to move ahead without using perfectionism as your excuse for inaction. A valuable complement to Steve Pressfield's indispensable book The War of Art.

Good short read.
It was good - slightly repetitive. Decent read though. I wish they made more short books like this one. Thanks
