This is a small check valve used for something like allowing a vacuum to be pulled in a single direction. It would not be appropriate for use with a fluid pump unless it is simply being used as part of a venting system to remove air from the pump prior to use.

Hi, it depends on your application, it usually installs close to the tank but you can put it closer to the fuel pump if you want. in any event it goes before the fuel pump as your trying to stop flow back.
