Great racks for a great price
I bought these racks after waiting for them to go on sale. I paid $60ish I believe, and they were super great. I have a 2010 Jeep Liberty and they work great on top of that. I can easily load my kayak on top by myself. They were also decently easy to install on my crossbars, and they indeed hold 2 kayaks, which is exactly what I wanted. And they fold down, which is nice and saves on air resistance and gas mileage when driving. I love the ease of use, and the ease of installing them. I will say my only complaint would be that sometimes the clip that holds one of the sides up is hard to close, but I normally can get it just fine. Just a little quirk. But for the money, I use them all the time and it’s a good product. 9/10 would recommend

Decent Rack
Pretty simple assembly and mount. Bolts are long on the cross rail mounts and are a problem if the cross rail has flex. Only dislike is the strap system. Pretty lame. Added ratchet straps for better cinch.

They work great!
I read a lot of negative reviews. I gave it a shot anyways. They work great. The people that are complaining either have the incorrect roof rack for the devices or don't have basic mechanical troubleshooting skills. While they didn't just jump on the roof rack and install themselves, they did take a little work. I do wish they had hex nuts for tighting down the devices to my roof rack. It can be a little tough to tighten down. But once you get it tight they work like they should. I took these on their maiden voyage backwoods camping. We traveled 93 miles one way. 15 of them were on a bumpy muddy road. The racks never came loose once. I love how it holds the paddles in place. Also a plus for me is they fold down. I have a low overhead garage and it would have sucked to put these on everytime I wanted to use them. They accommodate both of my large kayaks. They could accommodate bigger kayaks. Good luck my friends!

Easy set up
Only thing I'm disappointed about is part of the plastic was broken.

Holds kayaks well
Easy enough to install and works well enough. The strap guides were the deciding factor on purchasing this particular brand, but they are not used in securing standard kayaks. We are not able to use this as kayaks are too heavy to mount on roof of the SUV, especially for senior citizens of average height.

stirdy and secure
When my roof rack failed the kayak rack did not, it held on to the roof rack and the kayak as it all went flying off of my car. The kayak rack only acquired a few scrapes and I will be able to use it on the next roof rack.

Works great, I highly recommend this product
Bought this, mounted on my Tahoe, works great, have used it for several months with zero issues. I'm glad I bought this one that folds so I can fold it when not in use and fit in my garage. Great product!

Happy with this purchase!
As others have said, the mechanism that locks in the foldable centre bar is made of plastic. It seems to work well for now but I wonder if it will hold up over time. I may spray it with a UV protection to give it a better chance.Installation was relatively easy. Holding everything in place and getting the first bolt started by myself was doable but not as easy as it could be. I might glue the washers to the plastic knobs to make this easier. Some have said that the rack won't hold 2 kayaks. I don't see any problem with the rack holding 2 Pelican 29 inch recreational kayaks. See the pictures - I have one loaded with the center bar vertical - another kayak would load the same way on the other side. Note that the center bar does not have to be taller than the kayak.Others have said that the screws are too long. 2 lengths of screws were provided. The knobs were pre-threaded onto the shorter screws. My roof racks aren't that thick so I went with the shorter ones - they extended about an inch below the rack. No problems. They are just m8x1.25 carriage bolts.....you may be able to buy shorter bolts (or you could cut the supplied bolts if even the short bolts are too long).Several have said that the rack didn't come with straps. My purchase came with 4 cam straps - enough to attach two kayaks to the racks BUT did not come with bow and stern tie downs - these are very important. Another reviewer said his kayak flew off the roof rack. You can see in the picture he posted that he did not have bow and stern tie downs (look at the canoe that is still on the roof). I was only doing about 60kmh with the kayak on the roof but it was very secure. I opened my sunroof to keep an eye ...no movement.

Sturdy and easy to use
Bought this for our two kayaks. The racks fit easily onto two different sets of roof racks. It's not a super-quick setup on the racks - but it only takes about 10 minutes to install. I just leave them on the racks for the summer, then remove them and put them in the shed for the winter. The racks are very sturdy construction.Padding is good, and also adjusts so you can get it in the right place. The straps are plenty long, hold tightly, and have enough loose end to put a couple of safety knots in them. The grip with two straps on each boat is snug enough that, if I'm not going far, I don't bother with any bow- or stern-ropes (as long as I'm not going faster than about 80 km/hr, I'm confident they will stay put).I keep the straps in a couple of zipper bags (one for each side of the rack). The moveable portion of the rack is ridiculously easy to flip up to vertical or back down when not in use. I don't use the paddle holders as our paddles fit inside the car, but they seem sturdy. The only thing I'd like to see is a second strap fitting on the top of each vertical, as you can't put opposing straps through this fitting. It seems like there could be room for two fittings side-by-side, and it would help the straps stay in place a little more confidently.

looks as described
I just bought this and installed it in my car. Installation was easy with no tools required. Looks well made, will know more once I actually use it in the next few weeks.

So far so good!
I was debating on how much to spend on a kayak rack. Our kayaks are 36 pounds each and this rack hold them both well. The straps that came with it are cheap but we have lots of straps so that wasn’t a problem. Overall very happy with the product. We’ve been out on two trips and no issues. Easy to install.
