I bought the Dry & Dry orange indicating silica gel beads to help control moisture in a few storage containers and theyโve worked exactly as I hoped. The beads are a good size (not dusty or crushed like some cheaper brands), and the color indicator makes it really easy to see when theyโve absorbed moisture and need to be recharged. Iโm currently using them in a couple ammo cans, a camera gear box, and a storage bin in the basement where humidity can fluctuate. Within a day or two I noticed the containers stayed much drier, and the beads gradually started changing color just like theyโre supposed to. Itโs nice not having to guess whether theyโre still working. Recharging them is simple. I spread the beads on a baking tray and put them in the oven on low heat for a while, and they returned to their original orange color. After cooling, they were ready to go right back into use. Being able to reuse them multiple times makes this a much better value than disposable moisture absorbers. The container they come in seals well and makes it easy to store the remaining beads when not in use. Overall, this is a straightforward, effective product that does exactly what itโs supposed to do. If you need a reliable way to control moisture in storage boxes, safes, toolboxes, or electronics cases, these work great.

Purchased for use with Malolos Silica Gel Desiccant containers to keep my troublesome 3D printer filament high, dry and ready for action, after 2 weeks I can say it works great. I've seen major improvements in my PETG prints and even some reduced stringing in some of my PLA+ ones as well. On average it absorbed about 8 grams of water from a ziplock bag sealed filament over the period of 1 week. The colour wasn't all the way green, but I decided to refresh it anyway. Used the lowest defrost setting on my microwave, the silica balls did their best Rice Krispies impression (snap, crackle, pop) for about 2 minutes then it settled down. I let it go a bit too long I think and ended up with about 5 or 6 black crystals due to overheating. So I think in future I will just remove as the popping stops, similar to microwave popcorn, and stir more often, as the recommended 10 minute cook time just seems excessive when using for smaller amounts. I then upgraded my containers to have built-in inexpensive hygrometers, tossed in 45 grams of silica gel, closed the lid, within 10 minutes the humidity of the air near the meter dropped from 45% down to 11% (and eventually 10% after another 5 minutes which I believe is the bottom cap to the hygrometer). As for the jar it came in, the photo can be a bid misleading as it looks like it should be 3-4 times the size bottle which appears similar to a detergent bottle, so it confused me at first when the package arrived and it was much smaller than I thought it would be. But I weight it at just over 2lbs, which was correct, and as I'm only using 45g of silica per-container, I should be able to keep 20 or 1kg filament rolls dry with the single jug (more so if I use the 1/2 size for smaller rolls). The price to keep dry per filament roll is pretty reasonable when you consider they can be refreshed multiple times. Overall, very happy with the purchase, will probably purchase again, and again, and again to support my 3D printing addiction. UPDATED: Perfect cooking recipe for nice orange beads, no burning. 1. Only cook smaller batches if using smaller dishes, larger batches should be done in larger containers with only a layer or 2 of beads to allow for better evaporation. 2. Cook for 2-3 minutes at a lower power setting, I use powerlevel 3. 3. Stir to release the steam. 4. Cook for 5 minutes at power level 2 to maintain the temp, but not burn the beads. 5. If beads are mostly orange, then you're done, if still greenish repeat step 2 through 4. Suggest weighing beads before and after.

I ran my ear pod pros through the washer and dryer without realizing. Found them several days later in the bottom of my laundry bag. Dead! I've been wanting to purchase these beads for quite some time (to keep my 3D printing filament free of moisture). After this little incident, I pulled the trigger. I submerged my ear pods and the case in a tupperware container full of the beads and let them sit for 3-4 days. The beads changed color, indicating that they absorbed moisture, so I fully charged them and they work! Couldn't be happier. Thought I was out a couple hundred dollars. Cannot recommend enough! :)

I used this silica gel to keep my 3D printing filament dry. Functionality: It is bright orange when dry and goes a green/grey when wet and then needs recharging by re heating for a period of time (2 hours at 250F /120C or 10mins on defrost in a microwave ) to drive out the moisture. The container is very handy to store it in and keeps it dry until you need to use it. I found the container means you can easily pore the granules into the various filament holders I use. Quality and Durability: It seems to be working well. I have cycled it several times by re drying it in my Bambu AMS dryer and it changes from a greyish green back to orange. The quality seems just perfect for my use. The beads are quite large so if I am in a hurry I can just pour some into the bottom of my filament containers. I have uploaded a video to show the size of the granules and the colour difference between the wet and dry states and the drying instructions on the container. Also a photo of how I store some of my filament in cereal containers and using 3Dprinted spool adapters to hold the beads. I hope this helps you decide if this is right for you.
