Yay Super Nintendo on our new TV
My husband and I had been trying to figure out how to play old video games on our newer TV. After looking and reading and being thoroughly confused because no device ever clearly said it would work for converting old games to new TV, we found this and decided to try it. It arrived yesterday and it took us just a couple minutes to hook it up to the TV and our super Nintendo. Once we figured it out it worked perfectly! The game looked great and worked just like normal (I'm sure it looked better than normal too but its been awhile since I've played super Nintendo). The only thing I found odd was that the devices power cord is a USB plug in, fortunately I have my computer near by so I just powered it through my computer. If I didn't I would need to find a USB to outlet adapter in order to power the device. We have yet to try the other game consoles but as long as they have the same input as the super Nintendo I'm assuming they will work.

Nice converter for newer UHD TV's
We have DVD and VCR players with the old RCA connectors that we still watch occasionally. Some of the newer UHD TV's no longer have the analog composite video signal and audio jacks, the old red, white and yellow jacks. So I bought this to keep our non-HDMI VCR and DVD players from being useless.I connected the HDMI converter/adapter to a USB jack on the TV for power and then hooked the HDMI cable up with switch set to 1080. Turned on the DVD player and voila... good picture and audio on a Samsung 43" UHD series 6 TV.

Works great !
This was just what I needed to connect my Smart TV and older VCR/DVD combo unit. It was connected using component cables. The TV didn't have composite connections. The DVD worked fine but VHS tapes wouldn't play. I took a chance and ordered this Composite/HDMI converter. Now both sides of the combo unit work just fine. Thanks ! !

it looked like this was included but was in fact the USB ...
After a little research, I discovered I needed an AV to HDMI converter (not just the cable) to salvage my 13 year old Bose theater system to operate with my new Samsung LED TV. When I went to connect it I was surprised it came with a USB to converter cable that was required to supply power to the unit. Luckily, there was a USB port on the TV's connector panel. Then It became obvious I needed an HDMI cable also. From the pictures and description, it looked like this was included but was in fact the USB power cable shown in the ad. After I got it all connected and went through the TV and Bose set-up menu's, Bingo! Works like a champ. As soon as another HDMI cable arrives, I'll hook up my other converter box to my other TV to my old VCR. I understand why Musou doesn't include an HDMI cable as every application requires specific lengths but their ad should clearly state the need to purchase an HDMI cable. Other than that, works well and as advertised!

Stopped working after a short time
This converter worked GREAT for the first 24 hours. On Christmas Eve, I connected it to my new Samsung TV that only has HDMI ports. Did a lot of testing (playing) to ensure my old school Nintendo and Super Nintendo worked. Very impressed. The picture and sound were fantastic. Come Christmas morning, had so much fun playing Nintendo with the kids! However, come Christmas afternoon, now there is no audio. None of the cables were unplugged or moved. I've tried switching to different cables, unplugging the unit for a while, changed the setting from 720 to 1080 and back, the picture still looks great, but absolutely no sound. I know the Nintendo is working properly because I output the audio to some headphones just fine.Very disappointed.I have contacted the seller for options. Will update this review once a resolution has been determined.

Not For Game Capture!!!
I bought this Composite-to-HDMI converter box in order to take video from my Gamecube (both GC and Gameboy games) and pipe it into my capture card for streaming/recording purposes.Initially I used the Elgato HD 60 Pro card with my Gamecube's official Nintendo composite cables but audio was not being passed into it. In the Game Capture HD software both the left and right channels were pegged all the way but the only audio coming through was a single beep every 10 seconds. I also tried my Wii with its composite cables and it showed the same behavior.Next I tried the Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder (HDMI-to-Thunderbolt) capture card. Although this time some level of audio was being passed through, it was very distorted for both the Gamecube and Wii.I verified that sound coming from the Gamecube and Wii was good by directly plugging my headphones into an RCA white/red to 3.5mm cable and the audio was coming through perfectly fine.I also tested this with my TV and it worked completely fine. So if you only intend on using this for playing games on a TV, then this product might be right for you.For those that might ask, I used the same power source for all tests, including the one that worked when plugged it into the TV.An alternative for those that want to use this box for streaming/recording is to route the red and white RCA cables to a RCA-to-3.5mm audio cable and then male-to-male 3.5mm audio cable into the audio in port on your computer.

An easy and inexpensive solution
I got one of these to use to use with a laserdisc player at a party in a hotel room. The hotel TV only had HDMI inputs, which is true of many recent flat panel TVs, so a converter was needed. Picture quality was fine and it's plug and play. For some reason, the hotel TV would not sync reliably with the 1080p setting of the converter, though that setting worked fine when I tested it with my TV at home before hauling the laserdisc equipment to the hotel. Since the composite signal isn't even 720p resolution, let alone 1080p, that is unimportant; picture quality is the same at either resolution. If you have a problem with the picture cutting out at the 1080p setting, try 720p. The hotel TV also did not have a USB port so I used a standard USB charger to power the adapter. My home TV has composite inputs, but the picture from the converter looks better than using the TV's own inputs does. So this converter might have value even if your TV has composite jacks.
