KNIPEXDiagonal Cut

What can I say, nothing beats Knipex. There are some like GB, snap-onWiha, and other semi pro stuff but the the low price is just junk. Even Craftsmanand Crescent (made in China) are nothing more than paper weights. Trythe test! Hold them up to a light while closed. Look along the cutting surface,there should be no light coming through. Now cut piece of hard wire (pianoor SS welding wire). Then hold them up to the light again. If you see a littleround spot where the light is now getting through, you got junk. Too badreally cause the made in America stuff was really good. Now that so manyof the tool makers have been bought out by "bean counters" only concernedwith profit, good tools are getting harder and harder to find. In general "madein America" (or Germany) is a place to start. Even then, after you buy themtry the test, if they fail, return them as they are not worth the hassle. Onething that is really handy is Knipex have a little chart under the descriptionthat gives the size of the cutters and the max size of piano wire the will cutwithout damage to the cutters. If your cutters can't do that, get some thatcan. Lastly, try to get the High Leverage type. They require less effort andyou don't get your finger pinched when cutting in awkward positions.

Like others have said, they are small, 4.25 inches. That’s why I wanted them. I have other Knipex cutters and pliers, they are quality tools. Germans don’t make no junk. Nice finishing and cutting surfaces line up precisely.I wanted good cutters to fit in my pocket, I will keep these for convenience as I intend to use them for light duty only, cutting cable wraps, light cord etc.

I purchased these small cutters for more intricate work. Knipex produce quality tools and these cutters are no exception. They are small and I am very happy with them. I have included a picture of them next to a standard pair of side cutters. They are sharp and have tight tolerances. I have many other Knipex pliers and I am happy to invest in good tools. They will last a lifetime.

I usually love Knipex branded stuff, mostly because of the quality of German made tools. I’m disappointed these haven’t held up however. I cut a lot of plastic zip ties at work and have used cutters half the cost that have held up much longer than these unfortunately. I think I paid $20 for these small cutters that feel extremely well made in the hand, but just don’t hold an edge. They’re struggling to cut after only a couple months. For the price these should last years. Hopefully my next Knipex tool won’t disappoint.

The diagonal cutters are great. Just like all Knipex tools I have .

They aren’t shaped as picture. They are different shape and cutting edge seems weak for knipex.

All the awesomeness you'd expect from Knipex. The model number says "110" millimeters (4.3-inches), but in reality the overall length is almost exactly 5-inches, tip to tail. Will fit sideways in your pocket.

Seems as good as any Knipex product except for the stiffness. I've sent some back and kept some in hopes they will work in. Not pleased about that inconsistency but seeing as these are small the stiffness is overcome easily. So I kept them. I'm thinking we should all make an effort to return these stiff pliers and send a message to manufacturers of high end pliers. I didn't this time so I'm a little mad at myself.
