Fast edge sharpening
This is for the diamond model. I use a 1200 grit diamond sharpening block for most sharpening and this seems to be a little more rough than that, not sure of the grit size. It is easy to use and will produce a cutting edge in a few strokes which is much better than the old ceramic rod I have used for years. Best feature, it is large enough to use with the chef knife. It does not produce a polished razor edge, but a somewhat rough "saw" edge that cuts quite well. All of my knives are Wusthof Classic.

I ordered this for my dad because he was looking for a new rod knife. He was recommended this knife and he has said all good things about it.

Very easy to use as well as store for easy access.
My husband used it to make sure all our knives were sharp, as we had some meat to cut and freeze for storage.

Keeps my knives sharp
I just bought an inexpensive set of kitchen knives to a second home, and KNEW that I wanted to Diamond rod sharpening steel to keep them sharp. I immediately sharpened several OLD knives that have become useless ... now they are [almost] as good as new. I only wish that I had ordered the shorter 10" steel, as this one is too long to fit in the knife block, and must be angled to fit into the drawers in this kitchen. But, I am very happy to have this sharpening steel ready to use!
