Daisy Jones and The Six

Best book ever!!
"We only look like young stars because you can't see old scars."🎸I decided to read Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid because of my love for music. Initially I thought that it is just about a fictional 1970s rock band which had split and nobody knows the reason for it. I wanted to read a book which is about songwriting, passion for music, performance and so many other aspects of the music industry.🎸But, this book is beyond that.🎸This book is about flawed people, their passion, addiction, abuse, love, music, struggle, temptation, drugs and emotions.🎸The narrative is very unique and it is in the form of dialogue or an interview. It is so engaging that I could not stop reading. This book is about how different people came together, how they struggled with their personal life, how they faced creative differences and how they all worked on the band which they were a part of. It also shows an ugly side of success and media, which is heartbreaking.🎸I cannot praise the author enough for giving us diverse characters which evolve throughout the course of the book and go through personal struggles. I feel all the readers will be able to relate with at least one of the characters in this book.🎸Also, I felt thrilled while reading about the music, performance and the songwriting journey. I craved so much to listen to all the songs mentioned in the book. If you are someone who loves music, you got to read this one.🎸This is the first book which made me feel so emotional. I cried my heart out while reading the book and even more when I finished reading it. This book just broke my heart into a million pieces but somehow it put all the pieces back together in the end. This is hands down my new favourite book.🎸My rating: 5/5

Exhilarating & unforgettable
"Men often think they deserve a sticker for treating women like people."Hey Bookfam! What do I say about this book?I absolutely adore it!I read this book last year and fell in love, then I reread it! I also heard the audiobook and let me tell you this book will give you one of the best audiobook experiences ever!Thank you to @penguinindia @reader_viddh for a gifted paperback! 💛You don't know what hit you as you delve deeper and deeper into the book, the 70's glitz, the glam, the famegame, the rock and roll, the fashion, the drugs and a rollercoaster of a plot!Daisy Jones is definitely one of the most impactful and unforgettable characters ever written. You wouldn't know this is a story about a fictional band, it's like listening to a podcast or reading about the ups and downs of the band- The Six while they touch popularity and fame in the 70's with their leader Billy. All women characters in the book are so strong and indomitable, this book celebrates women, it's hard to let go of them and their story. The world building, the setting and the presentation of the 70's with the drugs and sex and music- a treat to read.I read that TJR found inspiration for this book in VH1's Behind The Music which is so cool. I think it comes naturally to TJR for writing true to life characters and stories, with their raw vulnerabilities and emotions. The lyrics are so good of a few songs, I especially love Honey comb, Aurora.I would recommend this to everyone, one of the best books ever written! So happy it's being adapted for a show by Reese Witherspoon after being a pick for her book club!

Book review
Composed in form of interview with all the characters which tells us a story of a band and it's members. But it's just so much more than that. It's about love, betrayal, heartbreak, addiction and overcoming that addiction, it's about feeling the loss of what we had and what we could never have, it's about 'the wrong guy who was exactly the right guy' and it's about loving two people at once even when you know it's wrong but you just can't help how you feel.We get to see these flawed characters with this rawness that we just understand their flaws. And that's on great characterization.Daisy Jones and The Six is the definition of literature that has it all. This is exactly what I expected from Taylor Jenkins Reid when I read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo but that book failed me. This is the book I wish everyone would talk about. It's just so much more than what it seems. It's really well defined around the life of the greatest band formed in the 70s and how it all scattered to ashes later.

Wow! 😍😭
This was surprisingly a roller-coaster 5star read for me this year. 😱😱😱I had read the Seven Wives of Evelyn Hugo last year and while it was an interesting read, I didn’t love it as much as reviews raved about it. I was soo not prepared for this. I had to pick it up after the final book in the fantasy series I was reading got delayed being published and so I wasn’t really in the mindset for this genre. But Wow! First, the way this was written was definitely interesting and unexpected. So much that I actually thought this was based on a true story! 😅 It’s not. It may have some inspirations but it’s a fictional band. But she wrote this so well, I really thought this was a documentary on a real band! 🤣🤣🤣Secondly, the characters she created were so different and interesting, they felt so real! I really truly thought I was living in the 70s when I read this book and I felt what the characters felt then. And lastly, I rode this rollercoaster of emotions in this book. I felt everything and the heartbreak. My goodness! I cried and my heart broke and that’s not often when I’m reading. I almost had to stagger reading this because sometimes the emotions felt a lot. So real and I wasn’t sure I could handle it all at once. But the lines that were written in this book and the love that was fought for was unreal! I’m in awe. And I’m rooting for Camila Dunne. Love love love her character. Not a lot of spice but the rollercoaster ride is worth it! 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Unique Storytelling. Best consumed as an Audiobook.
Having adored "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo," I couldn't resist diving into another masterpiece by Taylor Jenkins Reid— "Daisy Jones and the Six."I have never read a book in this format before. It is written like an interview transcript, with multiple POVs. I opted for the audiobook, narrated by a stellar cast, which turned out, in my opinion, to be the best way to immerse yourself in this unique narrative.TJR skillfully captured the electric atmosphere of music writing, live performances, and the good and the ugly of rising to fame. It is a wonderfully written love letter to 70's rock and roll.I found myself deeply moved by the intricacies of each character. There is so much depth and beauty in how Daisy, Billy, and Camilla's characters were written, and how their lives are intertwined. The Amazon Prime adaptation did a great job with the casting choice and song renditions, but I personally did not appreciate the deviations from the original story.𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐅 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄🎸 Unconventional storytelling🎸 Flawed characters🎸 Will They, Won't They?🎸 70's Rock🎸 Multiple POVs

Llegó en perfectas condiciones, un día antes de lo dicho!!Respecto a la lectura, no estaba muy convencida del tipo de narración, pero una vez comenzado no he podido dejarlo. incredible
The way this book is written is so clever, completely original to me at least. I loved the characters, the friction and the way it really made you want everything to work out for everyone. Excited to watch the series but will be shocked if it lives up to the same standard as the book.
