is this product good for African American natural hair? looking for something to rehydrate, soften and detangle

I'm African American with 4c natural hair and after purchasing this product it did not soften or detangle my hair at all BUT I did use it on my niece and nephews' hair (also African American; fine and very coily and super thick and coily) and it worked wonders for them!!! I guess it REALLY depends on your hair type.

Does this help with dandruff prone hair?

I am not sure. My daughter doesnt have dandruff so I wouldn't know. Also, this is for children. I use it occasionally but it does seem to dry out my hair a lot more than regular shampoo if that helps?
