Great book! Inspiring story by a true American Hero.

Author and astronaut, Mike Massimino wrote this amazing book, " Spaceman (Adapted for Young Readers): The True Story of a Young Boy's Journey to Becoming an Astronaut."Not only does he share his dreams of becoming an astronaut, he explains to readers how he accomplished his goals and more to get there. Want to take a trip into space? This book will take you there and explain in Massimino's wonderful and easy to understand writing style, what it was like for him and his crew.I highly recommend this story for a perfect read aloud at home or in the classroom.(I picked up a hardcover copy of this book at our local library.)

This book is fascinating from every angle: the personal and professional challenges, the Space Shuttle missions to the Hubble and everything surrounding an astronaut’s life. It’s an insightful account of Space travel.

This is a great book to encourage kids to never give up. Just keep working toward your goals. My 8 year old grandson and I listened to the audible version and liked it so well that I bought the kids version for his birthday.

As a budding astronaut, my 10 year old loved this book! It’s the first book he’s read with no arguments! Having not read it myself I have no idea about the writing style, but it must have been engaging as he finished it in a week.

I bought both the young people's and paperback versions. Will be reading more than once...I thoroughly enjoyed following Mike Massimino's life journey to/during his astronaut career and his portrayal of the characteristics needed to succeed at this performance level. His work on the Hubble telescope was fascinating, inspiring and at times nail-biting...what an experience! So glad to hear he continued pursuing his robotics research at Columbia, after NASA.
