Simple yet powerful framework to live a fulfilled life
‘Name, Place, Animal, Thing’ is a meaningful story that not only entertains but provides a powerful framework for anyone who is on a quest to lead a fulfilling and purposeful life.If you’ve played the game during your school days, as I have, you are going to love this book. Basing the entire premise of the book within a game and weaving a modern fable around it is simply brilliant.Lux has pulled off a splendid feat by crafting a delightful and inspiring read in his debut as an author.I can easily envision re-reading this book in the days to come to make sure NPAT becomes a habit.Who knew that a game around 4 words could provide a lens to evaluate your life and a framework to change it the way you want.

Overall, NPAT can be read in one sitting and the concepts will stay with you for long.
Honestly, Self-help books aren’t my thing. They become too preachy and I end up losing interest. But, this book was quite gripping. This is one of those books, which has blended fiction really well within the Self-help genre. The concepts are thought provoking yet enjoyable and that makes this book different from others.Yes, this is yet another of those Self-help books that teach us all those self improving ideas, but it does try to stand out with the way the concepts are presented. Lux has used diagrams, charts and drawings to make it more relatable and easy to read. I do feel, the style adopted in the book is quite innovative and intriguing. The ideas discussed through a fable in the book, are less abstract and more practical.I really liked that, Lux at no point pretended to provide definite answer and instead focused on how to arrive at it. The book is full of small anecdotes and modern life lessons; the underlying humour makes it quite a delightful read. This book is simple, easy-to-read and refreshing. It makes you go down the memory lane when the Author acknowledges the Title of the book; the game we used to play in school, “Name, Place, Animal and Thing”. Overall, NPAT can be read in one sitting and the concepts will stay with you for long.Book Information:Pages: 206 (Paperback)Language: EnglishGenre: Self-HelpMy Rating: 3.5/5

A fun guide to a fuller life
One way to avoid getting lost is sticking to the familiar. It's easy and it's what most of us do. But at some point it isn’t as satisfying as it used to be. The weekly grind, the weekend plans, even the stolen holidays, fall into a monotonous rhythm, and though from the outside, things look perfect, there’s a lurking dissatisfaction brewing within. Wrapped in an engaging conversation between friends is NPAT’s own recipe for avoiding that lost feeling, but without giving up on the joys of new discoveries. New things to do, new ways to think, new places to see, and new ways to be. As for finding a good direction for yourself, you don’t need a fancy GPS equipped watch, the simple, yet enlightening illustrations in the book are a great place to start. I look forward to making my NPAT chart now!

Do-it-yourself blueprint
Have you ever give it a thought that you might not be living to your full potential? Are you searching for the answer to what you have been missing in life? This book has all the answers you are looking for.The kids of 1990 must have played this game a hundred times in their school, on the last pages of the notebook, name, place, animal, thing. I remember I wasn’t excellent in this game. I wasn’t perfect when it comes to places. But, never have I thought that that simple game I played to quicken the time had so much hidden in it.Name, place, animal, thing is a simple book explaining the meaning of the lost joy of living somewhere while taking care of the responsibilities. The three elements that make life an everyday celebration are – curiosity: which drives you; humility: which grounds you; empathy: which connects you with others. The book is a do-it-yourself blueprint for reigniting the joy of living a fulfilled life without regrets. Practical examples and soul searching will definitely help you in finding some of your answers and building the life of your dreams

Fun, Relatable, and Absolutely Inspiring
By a long shot, NPAT is the best book I have ever read. It is an entertaining, satisfying, and thought-provoking fable. From the beginning till almost the very end, the book kept me guessing where the author is going with the plot. And from time-to-time some profound aha moments ensued in the storyline. The writing is absolutely enjoyable not only because of the fable style of presentation, the heart-warming humor, and the excellent articulation, but also because it is extremely relatable. The post-pandemic setting, the protagonist Kai's successful search for meaning, and the simple methods give a lot of hope.Frankly, I had no idea what the book was about when I began to read it. I would like you to go with that mindset and not be primed by "people who bought this also bought". The book very subtly and casually answers a lot of questions you might have about your personal growth. The book is short and can be read in a weekend. Hurry up and read the book, this is the right time for it!

Inspiring and Entertaining!
Loved the author's writing style. In this original self-help book, the author brilliantly merges storytelling and non-fiction to deliver his message. The book ultimately helps you evaluate your priorities, goals, mission, purpose, wishes and so on in order to create a life that is in line with who you are. A very entertaining read!

It will shake you up, in the best kind of way.
I had access to an Advance Reader Copy of this book. While I generally don’t read a ton of non-fiction, I was immediately captivated by the title of this book, which immediately evoked so much nostalgic memories of my childhood. I finished it in one sitting (with a small break to order take-out for the fam). An absolutely riveting read which draws you into the journey of Kai, in as thrilling a way, as any page-turner you may have read. I found myself in so many characters, at various points of the book. Very gently, and with no judgement (which of us has not panicked when you realized that everyone around you is “COVID-upskilling”), the book pushed me to think about ‘just doing more.’ Something that you find only in the best of books - the ideas and the illustrations are super sticky. They come to me as I stand stirring a sauce over the stove, they show up as my doodles while I wait for a conference call to start, in the shower, and sometimes, as I drift off to sleep. I dare anyone to finish the book, and last more than 30 seconds before you grab a pencil, or pen (depending on your age ;-)) to draw a renaissance man and start feverishly drafting your NPAT life. As for me, I have my blueprint ready and I also ordered a hardcopy. Because, THAT COVER!
