Great writing
Riveting story. The things poor Aris had to endure, and his family because of the consequences are astronomical. Fortunately, they find a way through, and find friends along the way.

4.5 Stars?
Book five of a series that I fear will end with the next book. I have a few gripes but nothing to keep me from being an eager reader. I have one more book to go in the series.Author makes real people who have faults and weaknesses. The evil are grossly evil and easy to hate. But these aren’t simple books. The story bends, merges and introduces more interesting characters as it goes along.I don’t believe in a review that retells the story and there are lots them if that’s what you want. I’ve been reading fantasy since I was a youngling. These books are a nice fit with the genre that is having trouble not retelling old stories. This does not feel like a rehash and I heartily recommend the whole series and I keep my pinkies crossed that there might be more.

RIVETING! So wonderfully crafted, magic aside.
All of Bethany's books in this series have flowed one Into the next with adventure, love, and magic. The kind of magic that this world ,I wish we had in our everyday lives. The kind that lets you loose yourself in its world.

Good read
I enjoyed reading book 5 of Bethany Adams' The Return of the Elves series. Action packed and got to meet new characters and spent time with some of my favorites. So glad that we got introduced to a friendly dragon and caught up with Loki again. This was a nail biting book as a group has to deal with the aftermath of Kien's poisoning the Earth's energy.

Excellent read
This one is the most like a romance, although it’s still a pretty good read for old dudes. She slightly revisits her older threat, but in a manner that flows naturally rather than seeming forced. The emphasis is on some of the characters previously less center stage, but they are all interesting and reasonably well drawn. The author handles a large cast, yet I never had any difficulty keeping the characters straight. The new characters are especially good. There’s technically no threat left, but the author has so many interesting characters, including some barely developed, that she’s no doubt planning more books.

Couldn’t put it down!
Well worth the wait, Abyss was a real page turner. I was happy to see all Adams’ great characters in this book, including the fun kiddos. Absolutely love the connection between Aris and Kezari, although I wish that was discussed a bit more. Selia turns out to be a real badass, which I adore. And we also get to hear her story. I love the way Adams interconnects her books and carries her characters forward through them so we get to interact with them every time. Her first book was great, and they get even better as they go. Looking forward to her next one!

Must read
It is a continuation from books 1-4. I really enjoyed the book. It had a great story line about the other elves and the poison (Don't want to give to much away). It is a story on it's own and didn't linger on to much from books 1-4 but concentrated on other characters. Love it. Continuing to book 6 and 7.

Fantastic series
The Return of the Elves series is wonderful - full of likeable, believable characters; exciting storylines (both within and between books); and of course varied and intriguing magic. It is also well written and tightly edited - something I appreciate. I think it would appeal to a wide range of ages, as well.

The Return of the Elves All five books
I wouuld thoroughly recommend this series to anyone who loves tails of the fai! I was constantly drawn into their word, transported even, and placed as a fly on the wall!Bethany Adams has contructed a tale that is so realistic as to be written by the fai themselves!I was completey gutted to realise I had reached the epilogue of book 5 and there was no more to read. I would love to find out how the two younglings grow, would love to hear of more mischief they got up to, to see how their powers developed over time. Also to see how the families grew.Thank you Bethany for enlightening us to the world of the elves!Wen.
