I collect animation cels, and sometimes have to deal with line fading and/or pinholes in the acrylic paint of the cel. However, the black lines are very fine and have to be back-lighted to find and repair. This mini light box is perfect for the task. The flourescent light inside is easily bright enough to spot "bald spots" on the cel and the entire box stays cool enough to prevent damage to the mylar sheets the cels are painted on.I did not one idiosyncracy. The box does not use an automatic ballast for the flourescent lights. One has to hold the rocker switch to the "light" position for at least 10 seconds to start up the flourescents. If the switch is not held down long enough, the bulbs will not light up. They may flicker a bit; but the won't light until the "off" switch is pressed to reset the circuit and the "on" or "light" side of the rocker is held down until the bulbs start to glow. They should then light up completely when the switch is released.The box is very light in weight and just about the perfect size for an 8.5" x 10.5" animation cel. Anything larger will have to be worked on in stages.It was delivered in a protective outer cardboard box, because the package box itself is a light enough weight to not withstand handling by the poast office.Overall, this was a very good purchase and well worth the price.

Just a simple, easy to use light box. The kid enjoys this light box for tracing, drawing and as a nightlight! Great value for the money as other boxes have been known to cost more.

I was searching for a light tracer for a while. I did a lot of research before I bought the Artograph. I read a lot of reviews where people were saying it did not work for tracing jeans and tracing 2 pieces of paper. Well duh this is meant for simple projects. If you are a professional then spend the money that does the work you want, don't blame this product. This is excellent, the light is bright, very light, I did not have anything so far what I use it for not work. You get what you pay for and this is well worth the money. Like I said if you want to pay nothing and what it to do miracles this is not it. But if you are using it for everyday activity or letting the kids use it, it is perfect. Great price, great value.
