With the right gear, you don't have to limit your riding to a dank basement or crowded spin class at the gym. Gloves like Castelli's Estremo offer the coverage and weather protection for pedaling through those dark winter months. Not only do these gloves sport wind- and water-resistant WindStopper X-Fast fabric on the back of the hand, they're equipped with a fleece lining. The lining keeps your paws warm, but it also contributes to comfort by wicking perspiration and transferring it to the outer WindStopper Layer. This combination of warmth retention and weather defense lets the Estremo confidently lead a full-frontal winter assault. But warmth, weather protection, and perspiration management aren't the only things we expect from a sub-freezing cycling glove. The connection to your hoods is just as important, and the Estremo delivers with a gripy and durable fabric for the palm and fingers. This offers excellent feedback for control, accurate shifts, and confident braking. The hand is also treated to a vibration-damping palm for reduced fatigue on those longer rides. A microsuede thumb panel offers a soft wiping surface, and the wide neoprene cuff ensures The Estremo locks out all cold air.

Very Nice Gloves for the cold
Since i got them i been using my Castelli Estremo Gloves extensively. i'm in northern New Jersey and the weather changes a lot here in the winter. I have more then 4 pairs of different gloves. the Castelli Estremo Gloves are excellent for temps 3°C(37°F) to 8°C (45°F). i would not recommend them at any lower temp since my experience has been cold fingers. temp bellow 3°C i use the lobster clause.

Great gloves - Design could be improved for the future though.
Super warm, I live in Chicago and ride all winter so definitely a plus, and water has yet to permeate the glove. Fingers are super mobile in them. Also they don’t feel like they were made cheap.Downside, they have velcro to tighten the end of the glove on your wrist. Constantly having the glove get caught on the velcro when trying to secure the second glove. Or even when I take them off and put them down. Whoever engineered this should try and redesign it.I already after a week have started to rip up the top of the glove. Drives me crazy! Still really like them.

Slim fit, good to about freezing
Quality is top notch. The feel is nice. My hands are medium sized with slim fingers, and the medium felt good, not loose and not too snug. Then on my first ride below freezing my thumbs got frosted. I wondered if a little more air space would have helped to prevent this. Certainly anyone with thicker fingers would find these too tight. I fit medium in almost all other gloves, and fear large would be too long. Also know that the Velcro wrist strap is short if you like to stuff your sleeve into the glove before closing. I have slim wrists and it just barely reaches. Most will need to run their jacket sleeve outside the glove. The materials and fit do allow for good grip and use of the bikes controls. Now I know that below mid 20's or so, I should wear my Pearl Izumi lobster gloves which are more cumbersome and I find much too warm for anything above freezing.

Thick, Warm, Waterproof biking gloves.
Very warm winter gloves, these gloves are pretty thick, but retain a decent amount of dexterity for shifting and braking on bike. out the gate ran the gloves under the sink and completely waterproof, great DWR coating will see how long it lasts, gloves fit true to size, I'm a S in most all gloves and these fit spot on with no excess material in the fingertips or bunching of the palm. Do get a bit of cold chill in them when first set out on ride but as core temp comes up some fingers get nice and warm and stay warm.

You will be wondering of it is really winter riding
These makes it unfair.. seriously to the riders who don't have it if you are doing a winter race or a group ride. Really awesome product.. Didnt feel any coldness or numbness of fingers even when riding at 37 F. The only issue i have is the palm side is soo grippy, it will take a while to get used to too much grip on the handle bars. It might be my bar tape type combination with these as well.

These are super warm. Not sure what people are saying about sizing - I have multiple gloves from Fox and Giro and always wear Medium, so I ordered these Castillo in medium as well and it’s a perfect fit. True to size! Too warm for 40 F, waiting for the temperature drop to wear these :)))

Waterproof, warm, and not too bulky
My son is currently living in Michigan where the winters can be brutal. He sometimes cycles in subzero temps and we had tried several types of gloves in hopes of finding something that would keep his hands warm AND dry, while not too bulky so as to grip the handlebars. This pair was the clear winner and he has been very happy with them. It was a good investment that will last many winters to come.

Great glove, kept my hands warm while cycling in 20F weather!
This is my first pair of Castelli cycling gloves (I'm just beginning to get into Castelli gear now). Took them out twice for rides that started in the low 20F (11F with windchill) and ended in the high 20s, maybe hitting 30F. Started out a bit cold, but once I got warmed up, the gloves kept me nice and warm for 30-40 mile rides. Would think they could go below 20 and still keep my hands warm.My hands measure 7"from base of palm to top of middle finger. That makes me either a small or a medium per Castelli sizing. Backcountry only had the medium so that's what I got. It fit well, a little bit long in the fingers, but not excessively so. It was still easy to change gears, brake, etc. I have tried on the Lightness glove and the small fits great, but the small Chiro Due might be a bit too tight. If they had a small Estremo, I would try those. The gloves are fairly thick relative to other cycling gloves I have (Gore Xenon), but you feel that as extra warmth when you start out. The palm of the glove feels a little 'fleshy', like there was too much material there, but it didn't interfere with handling the bike at all.Great glove, bought a second pair as soon as BC had another one in. Highly recommended!
