The Lucky Escape: The joyful, heart-warming new novel from the author of Our Stop

If you are looking for a holiday easy read, this may grab you. However, I found the book utterly ridiculous and just so far fetched. I was hoping for a twist at the end but sadly, that’s not to be. It wasn’t gripping, it wasn’t exciting and doesn’t have me eager to buy more books from this author

On the first sitting of reading this book, I had an uncomfortable feeling. More to the fact that the first part hit closer to home than I was expecting, having emotions hidden deep coming up to the surface. Even with this feeling, I still couldn’t put the book down. By my second sitting that uncomfortable feeling had gone and I couldn’t not like the book. I got lost in the book, my own little escape. I’ve always wanted to go to Australia, reading this was like having my own mini holiday from my sofa. The author has made the characters relatable. Even after having a bad life experience you can come back from that to the person you always are meant to be.

Laura is becoming my favourite author! Another great book, the story line and characters were perfect. I really got lost in the story, would be a perfect summer time read.

Not a literary master pice but definitely enjoyable! Love the travels around Australia. Could potentially be a 4/5, but I am relatively stingy with book ratings and I barely ever give fives, so on my scale this is a 3. Nice casual read

I did enjoy this book on the whole. Not an author I've read before. There were a couple of very minor details that irked me but that's more to do with me than the content of the story or the ability of the author.

Couldn’t put it down & enjoyed every page. Definitely a ‘lose yourself in the story’ sort of book

Exactly the kind of book you have come to love Laura for. Light hearted, easy but in a very flattering way, beach\garden\settee read in these pandemic times.absolutely the book I needed to read June 2021!
