Daily Splashes of Joy

I have read this book many times and I never seem to get tired of her funny inspirations. I recommend this and any of her other books to have a good laugh or just to have something enjoyable to read. I take these books on my kindle to the hospital and have had doctors and nurses want to know what I was reading. A line or two and they too walk out smiling and sometimes laughing. A great gift for the new Christians as well.

Barbara has a way of touching hearts in such a way you either laugh or cry.My Daughter is going through a messy divorce right now and gets the Children for a very short time during the year. Some of her worst nights have been lightened by the thoughts of a woman who has been there and learned how to smile through the tears and fears. Barbara Johnson is always a good read.

I have the calendar from 11 years ago. It is in full color and the words are bigger. This calendar is very boring looking, doesn't have the pizzaz that the old one does. Can she make it in different designs for different peoples taste?

This was a great gift to give to my mother-in-law while she was caring for her husband, who had Alzheimers. She immediately perked up when she saw it was Barbara Johnson - a wonderfully funny lady that loved to encourage ladies in the Lord. I trust that it brings a smile to my mom-in-law's heart each day. :)

Disappointing daily reader. I'd read other things by the author and thought this would live up to past excellence. I bought it for my 92 year-old mother and I to read together and discuss every day. Neither of us have taken to it. An occasional chuckle, but for the most part not especially joyful and often the readings aren't very coherent and don't make a lot of sense.

It has wit and sense, a great combination. I liked it so much that I bought another one for my daughter.

When I started to read this I knew that the background to the book was going to be worth investigating. This proved to be true, and I would recommend this, and any of Barbara Johnson's other books for all mothers who have been on the emotional roller-coaster that children bring to a parent's life. Keep this book handy for daily mood and morale boosting.
