I set this up as a venting system for my Uniformation GT3 Ultra printer, and the way it handles fumes is excellent. The charcoal bed is thick enough that it completely scrubs the air, so those chemical smells don't stand a chance of taking over the room. It has a sturdy steel mesh design that allows for great airflow, and I really like that the pre-filter cloth is detachable so you can keep it clean. It’s a simple, effective piece of gear that connects easily to 4-inch ducting and works exactly like it should.

Works well at air purification.

Removes cooking smells pretty well. no more waking up in the morning coughing from the roommate cooking. Just a teeny bit of smell thats much more tolerable.

this works on my counter to absorb the oil smoke while cooking，i still use a seperate air fan to support it ，it runs directly when plug in，it would be better if there would be a button to control

My kitchen does not have vent ducts to outside. I recently installed a range hood that does not have recirculating function. This carbon filter allows me to use the range hood without having to cut holes in cabinet, ceiling, and roof. I was quoted for several thousand dollars for installing new air ducts. This filter and a 6" rubber connector cost less than $100.

This is a game changer. Looks amazing and the build quality is top notch. the air flow is great even with the sleeve on it. this isn’t the cheapest filter on the market but you pay for what you get, and this speaks for itself. I use this to get rid of the smell of my plants and it completely eliminates the odor. however i actually bought a second one to use for my soldering station to filter out the lead smell and possibly particulates from the air above my work station and it seems to be doing the job perfectly. this not the cheapest, but certainly the best 4 inch filter on the market.

So for starters, I am using this with a six inch inline fan connected with a reducer fitting to make a DIY air purifier, I have no idea how this performs with the 4 inch fan as I assume that's what most people pair this with. My purifier is an extraordinarily basic design, but it is the activated charcoal in it that really makes it special. It has been able to filter just about any bad smell/VOC I've come across and has cleared my 300 sq/ft garage of spray paint fumes in less than 10 minutes (granted the small door was open but I was still impressed). Also I painted the closet in my bedroom and neither my girlfriend or I could smell a thing sitting barely 10 feet away when we had it between us. So this filter really works as far as I can tell, sadly I do not have any air quality monitoring devices on hand to make a confirmation. I'm not entirely sure how to check if the charcoal needs replacing so I can't say too much about longevity just yet, however I have been using my home-made air purifier almost daily for a good 4-5 months now and it seems to still be doing a pretty good job. With how much I use spray paint, epoxy, and solvents I'm fairly impressed it's helped protect me from all the breathing buddies for this long.
