Works perfectly
I do a lot of sewing and serging and frankly it’s tiresome to move my project back and forth so decided to try this tool. It cuts perfectly, makes a very nice overstitch and for my purposes it’s great. Very easy to install as long as you know that the screw slip and the lever slip have to be maneuvered slightly on an angle towards the right side of your machine to get it all on at the same time, it if you’ve used a ruffler foot then you have the experience. It’s a short learning curve. Excellent product, but then again, it’s a singer so I expect excellence.

Serger finish
Item arrived o time. Hooked up to machine as soon as it arrived and worked flawlessly. This Side cutter pressure foot works with my Singer heavy duty 4432 and gives a nice overcast stitch to protect seams from fraying while cutting off excess fabric. I had a serger but gave it a way because I wasn’t using it enough to justify taking up space in craft room.. This Foot makes up for it. While it’s not as good as a serger it serves it purpose. For those that struggle of say it doesn’t work, watch a video on proper use, most likely you don’t have fabric positioned properly over/ under foot. I have one of the brother side cutters for my brother machine and It is great too. I love having a one and done option for finishing seams.

Experienced or expert level required, but works perfectly.
In six decades of sewing, I've never acquired a more affordable, amazingly useful attachment. Nevertheless, installation instructions would be a plus.

Decepcion!

Was surprised
I couldn’t believe how well this actually worked. And worked very well. Now this won’t replace a good serger but it’s fantastic on the go with your portable machine.

Works Great. Exactly as stated.
Easy to install. I had no problems with this attachment at all. In fact, I thought it worked great. Other reviews said theirs didn't cut through their fabric very well. I have only used it on flannel so far, but it went through 4 layers of 100% cotton flannel, no problem. The only negative is that you really can't do corners with it, because it cuts the fabric before it's sewn... I think that might just be a little learning curve , not really a product deficiency. Yes, I'd rather have a real serger, but for now, this is a great and cheap alternaitve. I don't really know about the durability. If it doesn't hold up, I'll edit my review. So far, it's been great.

DON'T BUY! Follow info for best option!!!
Absolutely AWFUL! As someone who has been sewing for 20+ years I know how to work with any fabric and how to use this presser foot. Yes it cuts. But it doesn't cut it close enough to the edge to make it useful nor does it cut straight. You cant keep an even edge because of the way the fabric feeds into the cutting mechanism, it ruffles the edge on knits even when you treat them properly, and as this is supposed to mimic a serged edge it does the compete opposite.Instead :Go ahead and get a rotary cutter (for easy of clean cutting edge) and an overcast foot, and use a wide double overlock stitch or any wide stretch stitch (suggestions in yellow, best in red in picture). Be sure to cut the edge RIGHT before you sew the edge right after you trim it to desired width. This will work on knits as well as wovens etc. I also find it helpful to test this on a scrap of your fabric and play with the thread tension until it's where you like. Be sure to use the overlock foot as it keeps the edge flat when using this stitch. Without this foot (using a standard or universal foot) it will curl the edge under and make it super uneven and unfinished. If this happens, try lossening the tension. Here's a good overlock foot: https://www.amazon.com/Singer-SHOMHNK004-Overcast-Foot-HP30244/dp/B002F03QQ8

Kind of hard to use for beginners
It works perfectly and I can't complain about the quality, but the learning curve to get it to work properly was a bit of a challenge. I had to watch some videos on YouTube to see exactly how to use it, plus I've made several mistakes and almost broke a needle. That's on me, but as a beginner it proved to be a little harder than I had anticipated. That said, the results are very satisfying.
