Great book, tons of fun!
Love this book! My 8 yr old daughter had checked this book out from her school library 5 times in a row because she loved it so much. We decided to buy our own copy. Absolutely love this book. Fun recipes that she can make, great craft ideas, looking forward to trying out several gardening tricks this spring. My daughter loves flipping through the pages to find her next adventure. Highly recommend!

Great for kids
Bought this for our 8 year old granddaughter that loves gardening and cooking. Fun recipes, easy-to use recipes, and great ideas. The combination of being able to grow and cook the items from the garden is a great idea! A book that combines learning and fun. A great combination.

Amazing things to do WITH your kids!
This book is packed full of information and tons of pictures. I would think that a kid between 10 and 12 would be able to use this book themself. Each project has a difficulty rating of 1-3 stars, most seem to be 2 stars. I think that is book is meant to give adults ideas of projects they can do together with kids, teaching them about everything from kitchen safety to how have the best crop of blueberries or how to keep slugs from destroying your plants and even how to attract benefical bugs! One of the best things about this book is the amount of full color pictures. My kids can sit and look at the book with me and pick something out that they want to do based on the picture, we all know reading ingredient lists does not help when asking a kid what they want to make for dinner but seeing a picture of creamy coconut noodles might. They also have pictures of some of the steps you take in each project wether it is a recipe or a planter instead of just the finished product. There are helpful hints and interesting facts through out the book as well. I really love this book and can't say enough good things about it. if you enjoy teaching your kids new things I think you will love this book too. I already have plans for creating a runner bean wigwam (329) in the spring along with many other things

Not for kids
This book is geared for adults not children. It is mostly receipes, too advanced for children and some of the receipes do not have anything to do with gardening, for example: Chocolate fudge. I don't know where they got the title for this book... it totally does not fit the book. I would try for something more "child" based. I am a public school librarian and students who may borrow this book will be taking it home to Mom to help them.
