UH, Sorry Mr. Manufacturer!
I bought these slide/neg carriers with the express reasoning, I'd be tearing them apart as a part of a DIY Photo project/experiment. So, my apologies to you folks that made them. The experiment was a wonderful success, and they hold my negs/slides perfectly still.What? Oh, I retasked them as holders for a "liquid bath" technique used in the film days, whereby, negs/slides were placed in a bath to HIDE emulsion errors, minor scratches, hairs, and wash away surface dust/debris, etc. Once placed the holders and placed in the bath, a clear glass plate held it in place, lit from below, photographed from above, it works beautifully and lines up with my camera just the way I intended.So, not just for scanners. These can be retasked for use in many DIY projects. Beats converting film/slide to digital by shooting in midair, where all types of pollutants can, and do, interfere with clean, sharp, dust & dirt free images, and minor scratches made invisible to the camera.

It will do
The 120 and slide carriers work fine. The 35mm film strip holder not so good. I am able to scan strips of negatives but the part that lays on top of the strip is deformed and difficult to get in place so I don't use that part. I have to tape the slide carrier in place since it isn't really made for the Epson 4490.

The plastic is slightly warped, making it a little harder to align slides properly.
