Works great for retro consoles (SNES) when using s-video input
Works very well to upscale 240p content (SNES w/ s-video signal) to 1080p. While most modern TVs have pretty good built-in upscalers, some like my 32 inch Samsung choke on that bizarre and rarely used resolution, and don't even have an s-video port. This handled it like a champ, and it didn't introduce any major input lag that cheaper upscalers are notorious for. This won't magically make your old game consoles look pixel-perfect or super sharp. It's just a better upscaler than is in most TVs and it makes composite or s-video signals look a bit better. If you have a nice TV and your old console looks good enough on it, this probably isn't worth it. This is more for if your tv doesn't have an s-video port, or freaks out and starts jittering when you plug in a SNES.It's also absolutely worth it to get an s-video cable for old systems. It looks leagues better than composite, especially with the SNES. However, be wary of ultra cheap s-video cables for old consoles, as they may be using a poor shortcut to generate s-video. If you get a checkerboard or screen door effect on the s-video input, it's probably a cheap cable, not an issue with the console or upscaler.------------------------------------tldr: If old games look bad to the point of being broken on your tv or physically can't plug into it, buy this. If you get a screen door pattern when you use s-video, it's a problem with the cable.

Does not work
Product does not work for me. Plugging in Wii RCA cables and hdmi output to monitor. Power LED is on but light next to 720/1080p button is not. Going to return it and will update review if replacement works

Works great!
I've been using this with a few different retro gaming systems and I'm happy with the results. On my 32" the picture quality improvement is noticeable, nothing spectacular but much easier on the eyes. I haven't noticed any latency with the controllers either. Overall I'm very satisfied with the purchase.
