This is a really great game for teaching the parts of speech
This is a really great game for teaching the parts of speech. In addition, there are mini lessons in this games that teaching plural v. singular and the linking of various verb tenses. I would have liked some sort of container in the box to keep the cards separated for the game is not being played. This game is fun with just two players or a whole group. It also connects to the Common Core standards!Overall, I would recommend this game to all teachers of the English language.

So fun and versatile!
I have used this with many levels and ages (taught ESOL and currently teach Special Ed inclusion). Nothing tells students that you need a noun (subject) and a verb (predicate) like having too many green card and no tan cards! I use it orally and to encourage sentence writing. The students really enjoy playing this game. It can be simplified by removing the yellow (when) cards. When students land on yellow, they get to choose. When they understand the importance of different sentence parts, they make the right choice! When I moved to a new school, this is the first thing I bought.

disappointing. make the game yourself... oh ...
disappointing. make the game yourself...oh wait, you DO have to make this game yourself, minus the who, what, when, where cards!

Handy for all ages except pre-readers, and fun to play
This is a great game for small groups of children. I recommend laminating the cards as my last set got a bit tatty after a year of frequent use. The game can be played with just the Who, What, Where cards or you can step it up a level and include When. The sentence fragments are imaginative and can yield amusing results vis. The mice raked the leaves under the table yesterday afternoon. The game is especially useful if your students are prone to using the present tense verb with a past time word : Yesterday I go...

Build a Sentence, great for educating kids in developing sentences!
I purchased this for my five year old. She is reading and has begun addition. I saw this at a friend's home and her children enjoyed it! I am sure mine will also. Great seller!

Four Stars
Good basic skill design for creating complete sentences; not up to date subject matter relevant to students.

Every speech-language pathologist should own this game!
I came upon this game in a cupboard at a school I was working at as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). I had no idea how much I would love it. There are many great reasons to love this game: 1) It is non-threatening to reluctant readers, if they don't know how to read a word they just silently hold the card up for the adult to read to them. 2) You can make your own card with your own vocabulary words! The colors they use for the cards are similar to school card stock. 3) Kids love the element of chance involving the spinner. 4) Kids will discover the need for a subject and verb in a sentence in a non-boring way, and 5) It teaches the meanings of words used in the context of a sentence. I was so sad when this item was discontinued. I certainly hope that this listing on Amazon is for real because I want to stock up because I use this game for many purposes (assessment vocabulary, social groups, speech articulation practice (made my own /r/ phrase cards). I'm enthusiastic because I've had such great results in student improvement and student participation from this game.
