Cute Story
I used it to teach my students about patterns. Cute story! I don't read the last few pages with them though.

Lovely story with a message
My son went through a phase of being obsessed with this book. It's the perfect length to read before bed and it has a nice message, which I appreciated

Now a permanent shelf story =)
We orginally borrowed this from the library and it soon become clear I was going to have to buy it for our shelf at home! My two year old son kept asking for sock and my four year old really loves the storyline of an odd sock finding a friend thats different. You can see how he likes that the odd sock isnt left out. This is an excellent story and is really catchy =) beautiful illustrations too.A must buy!

Teaching Preschool age 3-5 years
I bought the book to talk about the number 2 and use the word "pair". For this, the book works wonderfully. I was surprised at the end when the sock finally finds its "pair" but they have nothing in common, so the sock ends up with another object. Kind of a funny ending, but I was sort of hoping we could just stick with the pair ... so I could use it like that with the preschoolers. Just something to know, in case you were hoping to drive home the use of "pair" and the concept of two.
