Update:I received a message about a day after I posted the original review and I really appreciate DENNOV's service. Belinda offered a free replacement very quickly, though I ordered it last Friday (the soonest I was available). I received it today and I am really glad that the replacement works well. Connecting the micro USB to the device still feels stiff at first, but became easier as I have done it more times. Given that my only problem with the recorder was it having trouble transferring files after I inserted the audio cable the second time, I find this a really solid recorder. Now I successfully transferred a file and it sounds really good when I play it on my Mac OS X.Original:I bought this recorder last week to create podcasts and I am amazed with the product when I received it. The microphone can pick up sounds very well and while the audio speaker is not the best, the recorded sound is very clear when I plugged in the headphones. Figuring the functions such as deleting files may be a little confusing because of a small number of buttons, but there are instructions so taking some time to practice with them can help.Unfortunately there is no guidance provided for transferring the recordings onto a computer. There is a micro USB to USB cable provided and once you plug it into the computer, the recorder kind of acts like a flash drive. However, yesterday when I first plugged in the micro USB cable to the recorder, it is very stiff so I cannot get it in without a good amount of force. At first connecting to the computer works but when I tried again, I heard a snapping sound inside the recorder so now the computer has trouble recognizing the recorder more than half the time. This can serve as a huge problem since with the recorder acting as the flash drive, it usually removes itself as soon as I plug it in, and for what I know removing a flash drive before properly ejecting it can damage the flash drive.I may really have to return this product because now the data transfer does not work properly for me. That is a big disappointment for an otherwise excellent recorder. I would say if you get this product, be very careful with inserting the micro USB but finding the right balance between using enough force to get it in and too much force to break it is not easy.

DO NOT BUY THIS RECORDER !This recorder worker great for 2 months and then out of now where the USB jack at the bottom of the recorder broke. For some reason the USB jack got detached from the recorder and was just floating around. I kept it in a very safe and secure place and I always handled it with care seeing as it had all of my class recordings on it. I tried contacting the company and they didn't even bother writing me back. My classmate even bought the same recorder because I told her I loved this one, and her's broke within 2 WEEKS! I thought it was just her's but I guess they are all made out of the same bad quality material. PLEASE do not waste your money on this gimicky product

Horrible. The first night I opened it and charged it up, the charging port inside the recorder was dangling and came out. I couldn't charge it. When Io opened up the recorder to try and fix it, I saw that the port was not even secure. It came right out. Cheap, will never buy from this company again. Didn't get a single use out of this piece of garbage.Edit: They arranged to send me a new one so that I at least got what I paid for. The product is okay.

My husband has just started a course which has complicated lectures so we bought this for him to use and play back in his own time.It comes really well packaged in a cute box, the Voice recorder fits snugly inside a molded plastic which really gives it great protection.Included in the box but hidden away is the usb cord for charging and downloading your recordings and headphones!! Of course the user manual is included as well-of course my husband didn't need that LOLIt fits into the palm of your hand and is very very sturdy in my opinion, made really well.It is silvery white in color about 3 inches in length and an inch across, extremely neat.Very easy to use, just press a button and hey presto off you go-it has 8gb of memory, We tried it out and it worked great.I think this will come in very handy for my daughter too for when she is studying, she is a freshman in school and tends to struggle, this will be great memory recall-I know you can use your phone for this nowadays but would you really want your phone filled up with all the information this can store.I love this little voice recorder and my family will get great use out of it**disclaimer I did receive this item at a discounted price. Well, this thing works well. However, the buttons are horrible. The buttons you use the most will break very quickly. Be prepared to open it up and stuff a bit of cardboard behind it. Still works after being rigged up.Company tries to give bad reviewers a $5 refund to improve their review. This is just shameful. Stop trying to use nefarious techniques to convince consumers to buy your problem ridden products. Amazon needs to punish companies like this, because it only hurts the customer!

Final update: I've received my replacement device and it seems to be working wonderfully. It looks to be very user friendly and a perfect size. While I haven't had much use of it yet, classes shall be starting soon and I am excited to be getting full use of it then.Update: Belinda has been very helpful and kind working on a refund and sending a replacement. I'll be getting my new device on Sunday and I'll have a better idea of the item's quality!.Just picked this up today, to use for my class lectures. Record button doesn't work straight out of the box and is loose and jiggly. I'll return this and try once more. If the next one is the same. I'll find a different brand.
