I have to use my fingers to remove them
These fit perfectly in wide-mouth canning jars. They are beautiful and well-made, without glass flaws. They hold the vegetables down well. The channeled top design means there aren't any isolated pools of brine that can spoil. But I can't pick them up with any tongs, neither metal, plastic nor silicone, nor with chopsticks. They're too slippery for tools to grip. I have to use my fingers. I don't think that's a deal breaker and I would buy them again, especially because they're less expensive than most others. I normally wash the glass weights every time I remove them from the jars.

Not for people with thick fingers
These weigh 184 grams which is the same as my other types of glass fermentation lids, I use them primarily for sauerkraut & various types of refrigerator pickles. I usually have about two dozen jars or so going at a time.My main & only real issue with these is that I have relatively fat fingers with no long finger nails, trying to pull these submerged lids out of wide mouth mason jars is both annoying & difficult. These are designed with a center glass ridge running in between two outside ridges. The ridges for some odd reason are all the same height so if you have thick fingers you can't just grab the center ridge.I always end up having to use a dinner fork or a thin bladed knife to try and pull up one side while simultaneously grabbing the fairly slippery glass lid. Grrr...They are easy to clean & store so if you have normal sized fingers or finger nails you can use to help you grab the center ridge you probably will not have any issues using these. If you have fat fingers I would recommend a different product, I have lids with only a center ridge & some that have a round knob on top both of these styles work perfectly fine for us fat fingered folk.I will not purchase these again.

Works Great
I have another brand of these similar glass weights that only had 4 to a pack & costs more than this set of 9 weights. I specifically wanted these because they don't have a knob sticking out the top that takes jar space. These had a ridge handle & are easy to insert & take out & doesn't take much jar space. This is a really nice product at a great price.

Just a little too big for common widemouth canning jars.

Does the job!
I use a ton of weights for fermenting. These weights are a little harder than the Mason brand to get out of the jar, but for the price difference they are very worthy. Quality is great, same size, same weight as the brand name for way cheaper when you need a lot.

Slotted handle is the superior design!
I do a LOT of fermenting, and these are the best weights out there. Unlike the versions with a little knob handle in the middle, this slotted design won't collect its own little moat of brine on top of it, which can cause mold and a spoiled batch. This is the one to buy. Easy to clean, easy to use, and it won't mess up your fermentations.

Not as easy to Grip as the description states
Glass weights are great for assisting with fermentation. However, I found these weights to be difficult to grasp when removing them from the mason jar. I would not recommend them for that purpose.

Good product.
I wondered how long it was going to take for someone to figured out that this weights needed to be made with better grip handles. These glass weights deliver just that; they slide right into the jar smoothly and they're easier to take out of the jar when needed, which is that's exactly what most of the other glass weights are conspicuously missing. So over all, this is a good product as far as I know. We made our jars and like the fact that we do not have to battle the glass weights to get to the fermented food in the jars. Definitely these glass weights made things quite a bit easier.

Doesn't fit wide mouth jars
The product itself is fine but it doesn't fit the Mason wide mouth jars, too big. It does fit extra large mouth jars that aren't Mason or Ball jars.

Does not fit wide mouth mason jars!
The media could not be loaded. The glass weight is a bit over 3” outside diameter. Wide mouth mason jars are are a bit under 3” inside diameter. Regular and wide mouth mason jar openings are standardized, regardless of brand or volume. It seems a sizing mistake was made when these were produced but they are being sold anyway. It’s to bad because they are a nice weight and shape but useless.
