King Louis XIV, ( 1638- 1715 ) known as Louis le Grand was also called the Sun King ( " le Roi Soleil"). He became one of the most powerful French monarchs and consolidate a regim of absolute monarchical rule in France, that endured until the French Revolution of 1789.
