Update: 6/18/2019The newer flat iron with the control buttons on the side is amazing! You are able to adjust the temperature with ease.If you have any questions about the product make sure you contact customer service they are very helpful.

I needed something better than the flat iron I purchased from Walmart. Did a whole lot of research and found this Kipozi! BaBylissPRO was an option but price turned me off real quick. This flat iron will do for now.

THIS IS AN ADDENDUM TO THE REVIEW WRITTEN & POSTED BELOW - THE COMPANY IS CONTACTING ME CONTINUALLY - 3 YEARS LATER - TO ASK ME TO CHANGE MY REVIEW AND OFFERING A REFUND. WHEN THEY FIRST STARTED CONTACTING ME I FORWARD THEIR EMAILS TO AMAZON. FOR A WHILE THEY STOPPED; NOW STARTING AGAIN. WONDERING ABOUT THE VALIDITY OF THIS SELLER - NOT UP TO ME TO DECIDE - SUGGEST AMAZON RESEARCH FURTHER.Plugged this in once and followed poorly-written directions. After many attempts was able to turn it on. Alleged controls do not allow any change in temperature beyond the defaulted to 380 degrees F. Only way to turn flat iron off is to unplug it. After 3 uses, cannot turn it on. Wish I still had the packaging, would have returned. If the alleged controls worked it would be OK. Wonder if this is a factory reject.

Pulled my hair. Would not recommend this flat iron. I have it in a drawer for back up only.

I am half black and half Vietnamese and I got blessed with course/kinky hair and over the years I have permed, wore weave and basically killed my hair. I actually bought this as a mini bday present to myself and I went from 2 hours of straightening my hair to 30 minutes with this thing! NO bullcrap! I bought this last year roughly so it is still in great shape and gets the job done perfectly! My hair is extremely shiny and it doesn't hurt that it takes 30 seconds to reach 450 degrees! It is extremely cheap compared to $200-$300 professional straighteners and does the job just fine if not better! I got the gold one, which compliments the rest of my hair supplies I have at home.

Came on but would not heat up.

Bad cord connection to the straightener. Cord is very loose and wont stay on.
