Hayward makes quality ball valves. Yes it is a bit hard to turn if you don't have levearage but once you cement it into your piping it's ok to turn. You can also make a ball valve wrench out of 2" pvc. That makes it simple to turn and you can reach into some tight spaces to get at the handle that way.

Valve works properly, however its a bit difficult to turn the handle.

Whats no to like. This is a quality valve.
