5 MC Stars
Wow oh wow I loved this book! This is the fourth book in Nina Levine's Storm MC series. While it is a S/A book covering Blade and Layla's story, the MC storyline runs through each book and for that I would highly recommend this series be read in order.I've been waiting very patiently for Blade and the wait was well worth it. We've had a little taster of Blade from the previous books so it goes without saying Slay was a little darker and a bit more edgy which was just what was needed for Blade's character. Blade had a difficult childhood, growing up with a somewhat absent yet violent father. He's also had to suffer through the murder of his fiance. With everything he's been through and no doubt the Cole genes, he has somewhat of a dark nature, one with which he struggles with.Enter, Layla Reed. Within 10 seconds of meeting Layla, I knew Nina had hit a home run with yet another fab female lead. Layla, has not had the easiest run of things herself but we see her just getting on with life. Nina, always seems to give us such rounded characters. Their strong yet their emotional, their sassy but their vulnerable. Blade and Layla were all these things and I loved how together they helped each other embrace every layer of their personality especially Layla's full acceptance of Blade helping him embrace the dark within. The MC storyline really moved along in Slay. No spoilers from me but there were some real OMG moments. It was great to see the other guys too (especially Scott) and now I'll sit back and patiently await Griff's story.5 big fat stars from me!

Blade oozes Lust & longing
OMG...What a hawt, PANTY MELTING READ. Blade - aka Donovan is to die for. I wasn't quite sure how is role would develop as upto now is presence has been quite cold, but heckers, not only does this guy have a body to die for, is lethal to the core & can clearly make you scream for your life in the bedroom, he's sensitive, caring & so loyal to those that are his it takes your breath away. His past is sad & you can't help but feel his troubles & sense what he lives through. Yes its shaped him into who is today, but at what cost?? Fortunately he meets Layla who is one rocking hot chick, strong enough to knock his world upside down & give him what he needs - Love, Passion & a future.Absolutely loved this book even though technically Blade isnt a Storm MC member, he is by blood line & I just love his role.

Another dark and dirty story
3.5 StarsAnother gritty, dark, story in the Storm series by Nina Levine. Although as Blade doesn't appear to ride a harley (or any other bike for that matter) and isn't officially a member of Storm MC maybe this book would have been better as a companion?Anyway enough nitpicking.I have to be honest, I actually struggled at first to get into this book and decided to read something else and then try again before I put it in the DNF pile and I'm glad I did. Blade and Layla's story is well written, contains all the perils, danger and hard smexiness that I've come to expect of the author and certainly tied up some ends between Blade's story and Scott, Madison and their father. Don't want to say to much as it may spoil it.The main reason for my slightly lower than average rating is the disappointment of reaching only 87% into the book to find the story finished and the rest is taken up with acknowledgements, tasters of next books etc.

Sex solves everything.
This was interesting but I had some issues with the violence in the book and how the characters all accepted it without remorse or fear of the consequences. Then later, the story would have them dealing with the effects which, of course, is contradictory.Blade, our flawed hero, is shown here with a troubled, gentler side. He was different to what I imagined from previous books, he was less compelling for one thing. He finds himself attracted to Layla, who has estranged herself from her rich family who oddly never make an appearance. Throw in Storm MC with the characters from previous books and the answer to any threat - throw your fists etc at it, and you have the book in a nutshell. It is much better than the previous ones but it still needs a good edit with more explanation and depth to the characters. There's a lot of violence and a lot of sex which I started to skip over because it became boring and repetitive. Hence the loss of one and a half stars.I've just read Lina Anderson's latest and that builds up tension and explains MC life and violence better. It's also a longer book which helps.Suitable for older readers due to content.

Blade Is Kick Ass
Nina has written Blade so well, she has captured his brooding intensity with such passion. We experience his dark moments full of pain, anger and self doubt, you can literally feel his emotions, some may think that Blade is devoid of emotion but they are so wrong in fact he feels with a depth that is ataggering. Layla is his light but don't think she's weak cause damn that girl is strong despite everything she's been through, she is a caring woman who gives so much love to those around her, once she lets you in, she's my type of girl. There's still huge drama with the club with lots still to be resolved but this is more about accepting your past, letting love into your life and starting a new life. I knew I would like Blade but I didn't expect to fall so in love with him and trust me you will to.
