I ordered with trepidation, because quality and sound varies with brand, and, per the reviews, some people had non-working notes.But what I received was perfect, with such a beautify tone (using the mallets) that playing it is a meditation in itself.If I could afford a second one, I would use magnets to flatten each note, so that, between the two tongue drums, I would have the full chromatic scale.But just one of these tongue drums, as is, sends me into higher consciousness.

As a birthday gift for my son, I was excited for this purchase. Upon opening, we noted several of the notes have very little resonance and fall flat no matter where they are struck with the mallet or fingers. If I return, how would I be assured the second one would be better than the first? How does one tune a metal tongue drum?

Purchased as a gift, and was much loved. Renaissance has great body and is soothing, designed for predetermined patterns and cantus. Not made for abrupt changes or rapid beating!

So fun and great. My husband and kids love it.

It sounds very pretty but 2 of the higher notes do not sound much at all. The carrying case zipper one side was broke. But I can still use it. The drum works for what I bought it for. To use to just relax and play while I meditate. I would call it a very nice toy. I did think it is prettier than I expected it to be. I do love the way it looks. If you wanted to buy a drum and have never had or seen one, it is a good place to start and see if you want to spend money for a better one.

This little drum has excellent sound quality, and the stickers with the letter names of the notes are helpful in learning how to play it. The stickers can be easily removed when they are no longer needed. It arrived quickly, and in excellent condition. I'm very pleased to have such a lovely percussion instrument.

GREAT SOUND QUALITY

The media could not be loaded.  It is visually stunning and all my notes sound perfect (to me, a musical novice). In less than 5 hours I can play a song (figured out the notes by ear, with harmonies), I'm sure other people could cut that time in half

Love this Drum. The sound is very relaxing. I just play it, make up tunes as I go. Its great!
