Petiner Harmless Dog No Bark Collar for Anti Barking Control Collars-No Harm Warning Beep,Vibration and Shock (Black)

I rescued an abused Cairn Terrier about 3 years ago who has severe seperation anxiety whenever I leave. It got to the point where my neighbor told me he once barked for 5 hours straight. I've tried the Thunder Shirt/vest, the calming essential oils for dogs, multiple dog puzzles and Kong's, playing pet music off of YouTube, walking him for an hour before I leave, anti-anxiety dog massages and pressure points, and all of the seperation training you can think off and nothing ever worked. I was super frustrated when I received a noise complaint because I had no more ideas left. I'm against medicating him with Xanax like many blogs suggest so I finally bought this collar. I felt like a complete failure resorting to shocking my beloved baby to get him to behave but I was being threatened with eviction. This collar worked after one day!!!! I'm not lying, he doesn't bark anymore, and it only took him getting shocked once to learn that the beeping means a shock is coming. I'm so relieved that the shock didn't change his personality too! I've been using it for 3 weeks now and I come home to silence when walking down the hallway instead of his usual bark/cry. The only downside is that the batteries drain pretty quickly so I don't leave them in when I remove the collar and I also advise purchasing the extra batteries in the suggestion box, you'll need them! I'm so happy that my baby isn't disturbing my neighbors all day long anymore and that we'll be able to stay in this apt. If your situation sounds similar to mine I highly recommend this product to you!

I purchased this product to help my 2 year old to learn not to bark constantly while she is outside in my fenced-in backyard. After hearing her continue to bark straight through the increasing warning beeps and subsequent pulse discharge, for a few solid days, I increased the default level of 4 to the maximum level of 7. No change was noticeable right away so I gave it a few more days to apply its programmed strategy to correct the behavior.....to no avail. This product has now been on my dog's neck for a few weeks, with NO decrease in the behaviors. The collar is indeed working as I often hear it discharge a "beeeeeeep" when she shakes her head and the collar gives her an audible warning for her ears flapping (that only happens on the max 7 setting). Other issues of concern are that the collar will give a warning beep to her when my OTHER dog barks in her vicinity, and she is 1/10th the size so the barks are not of similar frequencies and the product description elludes to the collars ability to distinguish the host animals bark with secondary barks and noises. All in all, the product simply failed to live up to the fundamental purpose for which it is marketed and thus purchased, TO STOP BARKING! I wish I had positive comments but the objective just simply not met. I can say the investment was nominal at under $20 so it could have been much worse. I hate saying you get what you pay for, because I often get much more than that if you do your due diligence.

This was one of the best purchases I have ever made! My dog turns into a barker when she is left alone in her crate- which was becoming more annoying for neighbors! No fancy packaging, but this product was on the dog and ready to go within 5 minutes. I love that it has a tone warning first. For the first day, the tone was enough to distract her from barking more. She did learn to test it further though, but quickly learned that she would get a brief static correction. I have had this for several weeks, and it still works to remind her not to bark, even when I forget to put it on her and leave it sitting on the table!

My dog is a jerk. He has figured out how to beat the system, so to speak. There's a safety feature on the collar that once the dog has reached the maximum level on the shock, it shuts off for 1 min to prevent the dog from being shocked unnecessarily if it were crying from an injury or some other reason that caused the collar to go off. So my dog has just learn to rapid bark, exceed the max setting, and then the collar sets off. I guess I'm gonna have to put two collars on, one for barking and one I can control with a remote.Also, the collars themselves are not very strong. This is probably the 6th collar I've purchased because my dogs break them frequently. It there a way to just buy replacement straps and not the device? That would be beneficial.

This product has great potential. The audio feature works as advertised. If a noise will keep your dog from barking, this is the product for you. However, it your dog is like mine and is a bit more committed to barking, this collar does not produce a strong enough shock to provide negative feedback. I followed all the instructions and shaved my dog's neck to the skin where the probes rest and nothing. I tested it on myself and it felt like a vibrating cell phone. If you have a serious barking problem you are dealing with, you should look for a more effective product.

It might work on small dog. But my Pyrenees barks through the static shock. It automatically turn down intensity. I have to manually adjust it constantly. Again, you got what you paid for, it's inexpensive. For big dog, go for the $100 one.

This collar made my dog stop barking instantly! Unfortunately it went off from the movement of her gently jumping onto the couch. I don't want her to be punished when she's not doing anything wrong. Im considering returning this because of that.

it kept my dog from barking, but it also burned his neck. I have his mom and within a week, she began to lick his neck, which made me curious and thats when I discovered he had lost his fur and his skin was raw.I now use a empty water bottle filled with coins and whenever he barks I just shake it, it stops him in his tracks. Sometimes all I have to do is hold the bottle and he knows. lol
