Lots of Colours
The pastels come in a cardboard box with a slide-out tray which has a plastic cover over the crayons. The colours are listed on the bottom of the box and also on the individual pastel wrappers. Each crayon has a portion not covered by the wrapper so they can be used immediately without peeling any paper away. There is an extra white one.I am not an artist and have never used oil pastels before, but these seem to be beginner friendly. I used them with sketch paper and could blend them nicely. I tried a few different techniques - light and heavy applications, gradient, layering, palette knife application and stippling. All behaved as I expected them to.I would have preferred them to be in a lift-open tin, but I guess the cardboard tray keeps the cost down.
