Excellent Book
First book of Stephen King I have read and it does not disappoint. I watched the movie first (several times over the years) so the movie scenes were like a fishhook on my brain while I went through the book. Happy to have finally got to reading the book. Almost always it is a book that inspires a movie and usually, the book is better than the movie. I do not want to get into comparison of which one is better. I was happy to watch the movie and I am glad I made time to read the book.

A story about hope
Unusually for Stephen King, there is no horror, no hint of the paranormal or supernatural. Illustrates why he is such a popular author - one of the best books I’ve ever read. Strongly recommended.

Seen the movie a dozen times but it was a different feeling when I read for the first time. You go really deep into the character.

Gripping and immersive
I like the story…five star…printing and paper is not that good…printed in Manipal India and looking this part and it seems costly for 125 pages

The basis for one of the great movies of all time.
I am not much for Stephen King novels, but I wanted to read this one because I am such a fan of the movie. I was not disappointed with the novella at all, and it was interesting that the portrayal of Andy in the movie is slightly different than the way King develops him in the text. This is definitely worth reading if you enjoyed the film; just understand that in several respects it is different.

Great story, well worth a read even if you've seen the film
This is more or less a short story for Steven King, I read it in two evenings. The film, (if you have seen it), was a very close adaptation of this book, but the book is actually a bit less violent and fills in some of the blanks about the characters backgrounds. Still a wonderfully satisfying story, I loved it.

A masterful story
It's amazing how a master of the craft like King can spin a story. His imagination is boundless. Great story.
