Pretty cool bells
The booklet is pretty short and explains the symbols on the bell. The method used at the end uses the simple black hat version of feng shui, which I think is inaccurate however. Flying star feng shui is more accurate. "Idiot's Guide to Feng Shui" is a good book.

Fortune Bell
I am enjoying my Fortune bell. It has a wonderful coppertone look. After reading the booklet enclosed with the bell, I soon found the place that I wanted to hang it in my home.

A Lovely and Practical Feng Shui Kit
"Our belief in the efficacy of feng shui does not come from the psychic realm or from pure faith but from trying the practice ourselves and discovering that it works. We saw proof that hanging our wind chime in various places in our home coincided with positive happenings relating to the area of life associated with that particular area of our home." - From the bookThe ancient Chinese art of feng shui, a word translated to mean "wind and water", promotes the free-flow of energy in buildings, landscapes and rooms. Also know as chi (pronounced chee), this vital energy can flow too quickly or become blocked altogether. According to the principles of feng shui, the removal or addition of certain objects or practices enhances health, relationships, finances, creativity and fortune.Created by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber, the Secrets of the Fortune Bell kit combines several time-honored feng shui remedies, including symbols, color, meaningful Chinese characters and the celestial cure of the wind chime. The box set comes with a 25-page companion booklet explaining the nine life areas of the Ba Gua map, the eleven symbols on the fortune bell chime, and twelve essential feng shui tips. The eleven symbols on the chime are:* Tiger* Kuan Yin* Sword* Coin* Scissors* Buddha* Mystic Knot* Abacus* Bagua* Chinese Characters* Chinese AlmanacFor example, Amy and Monte detail the meaning of the Scissors, which aids in discernment, attention to detail, and the ability to cut out negative influences that threaten well-being.The Secrets of the Fortune Bell employs the Dragon Door school of feng shui, which is much easier to practice than the compass method. This means that the Ba Gua map, beautifully illustrated in the companion book, orients according to a building or room's front (or main) door. (With the compass school of feng shui, the calculations are much more tedious.) Thus, even if you're not familiar with the Ba Gua, the Enchanted Couple makes the philosophy accessible and the fortune bell practically out-of-the-box useful.Secrets of the Fortune Bell will not only add beauty to your environment and serve as a focal point for your intentions, but also counter negative energy and support harmonious living.(For more information on feng shui, I recommend Feng Shui In Five Minutes and Feng Shui Dos & Taboos )Janet Boyer, author of The Back in Time Tarot Book: Picture the Past, Experience the Cards, Understand the Present (coming Fall 2008 from Hampton Roads Publishing)

An Amazing Fast Feng Shui Introduction
I love the whole idea of Feng Shui and have been fascinated by the concept, and probably like many of you, have read a lot about it. But the idea of actually incorporating any of the various ideas and methods into my home has been a bit...daunting. This kit makes it really easy to dip your toe into the pool of Feng Shui without having to immerse yourself. The book gives lots of tips and explanations that make sense of many of the principles of Feng Shui. I enjoyed learning about the nine symbols...especially scissors and how cutting ribbon ceremonies are good Feng Shui! Once again, Monte and Amy pack a lot of information into a small package! The book alone will get you started in all things Feng Shui and offers a great starting point. On to the great bell. I love this bell! I walked around the house holding it up and testing the energies of all the rooms in our home (we do NOT have a mansion, so it did not take long - smiling here). Then I settled upon the Helpful People section of our house, as we technically do not HAVE one. I felt it would help bring in energy to that missing area. Since I hung the bell, I have had several wonderful things happen where people have come forward to help me with projects and more! REALLY!Great gift and out just in time for the holiday season. If you have someone you know who enjoys decorating their home and could use some positive energy...here you go!
