Gentle Closings: Facing Death and Saying Goodbye to Someone You Love Paperback – Illustrated, February 26, 2014

This is the perfect gift for anyone who has lost a family member. We lost our son whenhe was 28 years old in a helicopter crash. I looked around everywhere for something to console my husband. I discovered this book and ever since then I have given this book to 66 people who have lost a child. Today I went to the funeral of a good friend and I took with me this book to give to her son. My friend died very suddenly and because he was the light of her life he was in shock. This is the first death he has ever had to deal with. I know he will find comfort in this book. The funeral itself was not helpful - even though there were 2 ministers who offered brief prayers, this was not a comforting funeral.

Great book to Read. I would Highly Recommend it to anyone is facing a Love One with Dementia, or a Life Alternating disease.As a Hospice Chaplain of nearly 20 years and 32 years as a Non-Demential Pastor. I have recommended this book at least Two Dozen times.

I was given this when my dad was dying. It really helped. I have purchased and given to several of my friends to help them through their journey. They have all had the same responses. This is a very nice book and provided a lot of comfort in moving through the grieving process, especially with prolonged fatal illness.

This little gem of a book has been around for awhile but it's timeless. Grounded in common sense and practicality, and absent of preachiness or overbearing instruction this book is perfect for anyone of any religion or no religion. I have probably purchased it a dozen times to give to the grief stricken.
