Worked for my pool..
I fought with metals in my pool for months this year. I tried numerous sequestering agents without finding one that worked. I eventually found this one and, for whatever reason, it seemed to take care of the problem. I don't honestly know why, as they are all about the same chemically, but for my pool, this product helped. After having to re-add multiple quarts of sequestering agents weekly, while using other brands, and still seeing staining, I started using this and only had to re-add a partial bottle weekly after the initial 4 quart addition. I have a 36+k gallon pool. I had spent months trying other brands and solutions... I will stick with this going forward.

Ignore Bad Reviews!
This product rocks! Used well water to fill up pool. All water runs through water softener so I had some salt in there. Knowing we would be filling up pool I didn't add salt. 7/19 we had a completely filled pool. Decent/within range levels for ph and chlorine the day after it was completely filled. Left floating chlorine in for a few days. Waiting for this to get here. Read reviews again so took out the chlorine floater. That is only source of chlorine. Found out product arriving after 7/22 so put chlorine floater back in the pool. Product arrived 7/25. Took skimmer out and added entire quart to the pool. Did this about 4 pm. Next morning, 7/26, no change to the pool. But, by 1 pm that same day it was perfect. It's raining so can't swap out filters. Going to use TSP to clean them. I think the bad reviews are from competitors. I'm ordering more so we can drain warm water and replace with cold and always have a beautiful pool!

This stuff works!
This is my first review ever on Amazon. We just had a new pool installed, and it was filled with our well water. It looked OK up until the point I dumped some liquid chlorine in it. OMG, it was the most horrible brown possible. I didn't realize we had that much iron in our water, but the chlorine showed me just how much. I pretty much followed the directions- dropped the PH to 6.8 and let the chlorine go to 1.0. Added 4 bottles Metal Out to the 16500 gal pool. In 12 hours the pool is a beautiful blue. Still a touch cloudy, but I'm sure its going to take a while to filter out all the sequestered metals. Very happy as I was stressing over that brown water all on our new plaster.

Complete waste of time and money. Don’t do it!
This product did nothing to correct the iron in my pool water. I used it exactly per the instructions. When that didn’t work, I doubled up on the dosage. After a period of one week my pool water looked exactly like it did before “treatment “.Amazon would not accept a return of “Metal Out” because it’s considered a hazardous chemical. I contacted Pool Mate directly and they did not offer any help. Bad product and bad product support. My advice if you have iron in your pool water: Shock it, wait for the rust to settle to the bottom and then vacuum it out as waste (dump the waste water, don’t let it go back into the pool). Wish I had known that before wasting time and money on 4 quarts of “Metal Out”.

works great but make sure to adjust your Total Alkalinity
I had my well water tested and this was what I have to dealing with.Iron* (Fe)4.80Manganese* (Mn) 1.99This product worked great in my 20,000 gal pool. I add 4 bottles because I had so much Iron and Manganese in the water. And have only need to keep putting 1 bottle in each month after that. Also it is critical to adjust your total alkalinity to the right level before or you will never keep to chlorine in your pool. And then if you shock your water to kill the Algae theirs a good chance your water will turn rust red again.
