Great Story - book was a misprint
So, the story is great, the characters are great, writing is great, I have no complaints about the content and I am glad to have this on my shelf. But my cover was misprinted and the text is not centered on the spine. Its a small cosmetic issue, but not one I would have expected buying a new product I have no idea if all the potential copies on Amazon are misprinted like this or if I am the unlucky one. But I suppose it is something to be aware of. I will wind up looking in local shops with the hope of snagging a used copy at some point to replace the new one I just bought, and am keeping my fingers crossed that the other few books in the set that are still on their way are not misprinted like this one.

Empyre gets good once Hickman takes the reins
The Empyre: X-Men tie-in miniseries continues to be ridiculous and grating, but then Hickman starts writing it and I got on board. He writes and excellent Dr. Strange, and I loved a twist he threw in where a resurrected Krakoa boy talks to his zombie self. Just very odd but also sweet. The actual X-Men issue showing the Empyre invasion of Krakoa is yet another homerun issue, showcasing an extremely creative use of Magneto's powers. Wolverine managed to grab my interest for the first time with a Hateful Eight-esque bottle story that only connects to the Omega Red arc in the final pages. X-Factor bored me as it headed to Mojoword - not one of my favorite X-Men locales. It wasn't funny 40 years ago when Claremont created it, it's not funny now. All in all this collection gets things back on track. Interested to see how the next two X-Men issues set up X of Swords.

a decent set of stories
I normally like getting the actor team books i.e. x-men, xfactor, wolverine etc. but I've been buying and following along the Dan of X books because they supposedly encompass all the book and compile them chronologically. This was was a decent read. I wasn't a big lover of the whole Empire run but now that we're past it I'm looking forward to more subplots they set up along the way.

Crooked spine is so bad
I bought this “new” but they gave me probably the worst copy that was produced. The spine is completely crooked and not aligned. When it’s on a shelf the author’s names and volume number can’t even be read anymore because of how crooked it is. This was a waste of money when I most likely could have gotten a much better copy used.
