Budget Friendly, Durable & Looks Great after 3 yrs!
My pink countertops needed a budget friendly update. This stuff was a better than expected option. Installed in 2021 to counters that had a few obstacles including a corner sink, and a few odd angles. It took me an entire day, and a few not so nice words, to do by myself, but I did it and was surprisingly happy with the results. Extremely pleased with the durability. I cook and clean daily, the only negative I noticed was that some sauces & spices will stain if not wiped up quickly. The 3 biggest tips I'll give is; an extra set of hands would be extremely helpful, take your time, and a hair dryer will seal the deal...Literally! It really helped smooth things out. Especially, when it comes to getting around corners and edges. When I had to put my house of for sale, the realtor was shocked that it was a peel and stick film. Home sold day listed. This worked out so well, I did the counters in my daughters apartment. It's been over 3 years and she still no issues! In my current kitchen, I plan on building my own counters and covering them with this product until I can afford a hard surface option. So yes, I highly recommend!

Worth it for a relatively cheap upgrade
This stuff looks gorgeous when it is installed. Cheaper than new counter tops and way faster than any paint or epoxy kit. However it is crazy hard to install especially on long counter tops. You definitely need two people to help. If you bend it or have to struggle to unroll it it will easily get damaged with tiny wrinkles and imperfections that cannot be smoothed out. Also if you make a mistake it is nearly impossible to fix without redoing the entire piece. My cabinet curves up against the wall and that presented another challenge. With all that being said it took my boring 80s builder grade cabinets up so many notches and does not look like contact paper. It looks so good!!!You will just need a ton of patience.

Prep well. Use a spray bottle. Go slow!
First off, watch as many of the videos as you can on YouTube. Clean your surface... not once but 2-3 times. A lot of the complaints about bubbles are really the result of things getting onto the surface as you apply the film. It seems like common sense, but even after prepping I had one or two tiny specks of something get onto the counter as I was applying the film and a bubble will result.Cut your film so that you have a straight edge to work from. I worked from the back of my counter. I made sure I had a small amount of excess film on each end. My counter was 24” deep, plus a two inch edge, so I narrowed the film down from the 36” width to make it easier to work with. I positioned the film without peeling the backing to see where I wanted it.Next - get yourself a spray bottle with some soapy water. I saw one video where a woman used window cleaner - I found that this really negatively impacted adhesion where the soapy water did not. Without water repositioning would be nearly impossible. This stuff sticks to EVERYTHING. Repositioning without water could result in tearing or stretching the film.Start peeling a very small amount of paper from the back of the film, spraying the counter and squeegeeing to smooth the surface as you go. Move towards the front of the counter. You may have to make cuts in corners to “release” the film so it doesn’t wrinkle. When you get to the front, use a hairdryer to warm the film slightly to shape it to the front edge. Use a straight edge to assist with trimming excess material off.I am doing my whole kitchen counter with the film. It looks great, much better than the old laminate.

Best stuff ever!!
This stuff is great!! completely transformed vacay kitchen for only $200 instead of $2000. Takes a lot of patience. On corners, use a hair dryer and stretch/pull to make smooth. I didn't figure this out until my last 2 corners, but still looks great. what i ended up doing with last 2 was first apply a scrap piece and practice doing the corner. i actually did this 3 times to figure out the best way. on seams there is a great video on youtube. (search: "EZ Instant Makeover- Faux Granite- Details like corner installation- part3" start about 5 mins in of 11 min video) However, if i did it again i would use more water and remove the backing before cutting. per the video, I didn't remove backing and do have a tiny overlap you can feel. Without the backing it would have been flat. Even when patient you'll end up with bubbles you didn't notice during installation. No worries, just make a tiny pin hole and use your squeegee to push air and water out to lay flat. Some just won't go down, but those are usually so small that no one will notice. Because it's not climate controlled all year, i'm a little worried to see how it fairs during the 115 degree summer. I'll report back if it reacts badly to the heat in coming months. :D Sorry pics are kinda dark
