Yes, you can add a straight extension to this shower head. You can find them on Amazon. The extension will have a female end for your existing plumbing and a male end for your shower head.

The water pressure in my house is very strong. I did remove the water restrictor and it makes the water flow even stronger... I love it. I tried the shower both ways with and without the restrictor. Even with it still pretty good flow. If the water in your house is not that strong you can remove it. I would try it both ways, with it and without it and see how you like the water flow.
