An amazing corker of a story
I've never had a book that has touched my soul and reached out to my heart like this has. Alex you are amazing at what you do. This book was so relatable and quite a few of the situations hit home with me. I loved the sisterhood of Elaine, Mo and Naomi and the dynamic between Sam and Mo. God I loved them together. This book will make you think. It will open your eyes to a world that is not so far from your doorstep. I loved this book. I laughed so much it even made me cry at one point and I never cry at books. It explored some difficult topics but necessary topics and Alex handled it sensitively and done a great job. I read this book in one day and that only ever happens when I really enjoy a book so hats off to Alex. It's a really great story. I loved Mo's character and the return of Elaine and Liccle Bit. I have so many favourite one liners from this book too they had me cracking up. If you do anything make sure you read this book. It's brilliant and a great addition to the Crongton story.

Another great book by Alex Wheatle
The third in the Crongton series and this one goes back in time and the man protagonist is a 15 year old white girl, surrounded by characters from the other novels. Once again themes of loyalty, friendship and goodness in a harsh environment are explored. A mirror is held up to Gangland violence violence but the plot is simple and works. Exceptional

A brilliant evocation of the struggles of a teenage girl in ...
A must read. A brilliant evocation of the struggles of a teenage girl in a poor multi-ethnic neighbourhoodliving under the all prevailing threat of violence from gangs thriving on extortion and drug dealing. His style of writing is very innovative and sculpted to his subject. His use of the vernacular of the neighbourhood(presumably inner London), both in dialogue and, where appropriate, in his own voice as narrator, gives his prose a vitality and a compelling sense of the moment. This book is an account in primary colours of what many marginalised people have to endure in today's UK.

It is just like the book ''Liccle Bit''🥇
This book used some of the characters from the book ''Liccle Bit'' and the reason I rated this book 📙 5/5 is because it is thick and long and also because of the characters used 😉
