Hidden by Helen Frost (2015-01-20)

My 6th grade son brought this book home from the library and read it for hours over break. He's not usually one to sit still with a book for long... so I was intrigued. When he was done I read it myself. The story is engaging and moves along quickly. At the end of the story you learn that you can get more of the 'hidden' story by reading the last lines of certain pages. That was a fun surprise, and also introduced a unique creative writing concept. It got us talking about 'secret codes' and hidden messages, as well as the other messages in the story itself. A great book for middle school readers and adults that like YA fiction.
