A fantastic reference book highlighting so many interesting places you could easily miss. The research is meticulous and the publication covers wide ranging subject matter, from castles to police stations, synagogues to petrol stations! This book really shows off our rich architectural heritage.(note, same initial and surname but I am not the author!)

What a terrible book. Written poorly and not even a map included, the only thing it proves is how dire a route the a1 is

Fascinating insight into the buildings and landmarks along this well trodden road, the detail and research is very impressive.Well worth a read and have also given a copy to my trucker brother-in-law to brighten up his long journeys!

Who knew the A1 was secretly so interesting?! A perfect book to plan a road trip around.
