The Art and Making of Independence Day: Resurgence

Hey, fellow ID4 fans, this is a must own book ! I really like the way the original film is featured in addition to the sequel. As the original is my fav film of all time (saw it 27 times in the theater, and I've got every ticket stub to prove it), I have been collecting stills from the movie for a very long time, and this book features some great photos I've never seen before. Spoiler Alert, though; the book displays a lot of photos, artwork, etc in reference to the sequel that you may not want to take a look at until you've seen it, so if you want to be surprised then hold off getting this book until you've seen the new film at least once. I for one don't mind getting this "sneak peak" since, in a number of cases, the trailers have already been showing off a lot of the neat new stuff moviegoers will be seeing. Whatever the case, if you're a real fan of the Independence Day story, make it a point to add this book to your collection, you won't regret it.

I've only flipped through the entire thing once for the pictures which are really great. There is a lot of behind the scenes info and a lot of insight into the alien species and story than I expected. I really liked both of these movies. I'm only giving this book 4 stars because while there is a lot, I was really hoping for more pics of the vehicles and the queen. A full size version of that small pic would've been awesome, for instance. In reality if I could give it 4.5 stars that would be more accurate. Awesome book if you loved either movie and wanna just sit down and geek out on it. It's a thick and wide book. Most of the pics are really high rez renderings of all the thought that went into stuff, and the wide size of the pages is great for seeing all the detail. You know what? 5 stars...

The actual movie sucked, but this book shows all of the potential it had. Behind the scenes a lot of thought was clearly put into the world-building of this film, imagining how our society would have progressed, both socially and scientifically, in the aftermath of an even like the alien invasion depicted in the original film. This books showcases all of that with some great artwork and written notes. Based on that I recommend it even if, like me, you didn't enjoy the movie.

It's so great seeing old and new art work of the upcoming film as well as the previous film.I thought it was a little weird that they would release an Art and Making Of book to a sequel rather than the film that came before it, but to my surprise, it featured some production pictures of the first film as well.It's also great to get a better look at the Alien Queen in this book rather than the trailers they've been showing her not in her entirety.I for one am actually excited to see this movie, even if there is no Will Smith :)

A fantastic look at both Independence Day movies. Artwork and photos galore, it gives some insight to the old 1996 film. Some of the photos from the original Independence Day are in here; ones I've never seen. Now bring on Independence Day 3!

Great book! Beautiful art work and it gives great insight into the designs of the aliens and heir ships.

Mediocre at best. You can find better conceptual renderings for creatures & ships online. First half is dedicated to the first film & doesn't say anything a hardcore fan of the original didn't already know. Some spelling errors.

A good quality package plenty photos and loads of information on independence day and independence day resurgence, this is the complete package,a little on the large size and heavy.
