Review: I had a goose called Edie..... - After a major shipment of drugs goes missing on the US-Canadian border, forest ranger Henry is plunged into survival mode when the drug cartel forces him to help retrieve the downed package. Trapped in the wilderness with no communication to the outside world, Henry finds himself face to face with Clay, a man with a personal vendetta who has come for retribution. Now, the two enemies must make a choice. Put aside their past and work together, or die alone at the hands of the drug runners, a ruthless gang who will stop at nothing to retrieve their lost cargo..... After the success of Van Dammes performance in Expendables 2, it was a wise choice for him to swap roles in this film, as it makes it all the more enjoyable to see him camp it up as the bad guy. If Van Damme was the hero, this would have just been another enjoyable but average movie from the star, so it says a lot about his performance. Narrative wise, the inclusion of Jones is pretty pointless, and doesn't add anything. If it were just Scott, it would have been more of a Die Hard type film, which is never a bad thing, and you wouldn't waste a lot of time, with silly script filler. It's not an action movie by any means, and if you are a fan of Van Damme, it's closer to Until Death in movie terms. But there are a few fight scenes, and they are good, but don't expect something like Double Impact. Hyams and Van Damme are becoming a force to be reckoned with on the Direct to Blu Ray, like the cut price Scorcese and Dicaprio. Plus Van Damme has great hair. Review: WHEN VEGANS GO BAD, - Henry (Tom Everett Scott) is a park ranger on King's Island off the coast of Maine. He is being threatened by Clay (Orlando Jones) the brother of a man killed under Henry's command back in... Clay blames Henry and wants revenge/justice. Meanwhile Xander (Jean-Claude Van Damme) a cheese eating vegan drug dealer is looking for a shipment of heroin that was dropped in the bay near the shore of the island. Clay and Henry are forced to team together etc. etc. This was a very predictable, badly scripted, poor dialouge film. The title is from the expression, "you keep your friends close and enemies closer" or in this case there are no friends just one enemy closer than the other enemies. Van Damme has an early fight scene, but his close-ups after that include eating fruits and berries. Not even worth viewing. Better action films out there. Parental Guide: F-bomb. No sex or nudity.

Jean Claude Van Damme in his latter years still elevates his game. He is a true nut in this movie lol. I love Enemies Closer! A must have.
